To become truly great, scandals need to catch fire. They need to grow as fuel is added daily or weekly, leaks, new info. Post election, Benghazi was a fading campfire. Now, the Petraeus sex scandal has ignited it to a level that even the NYT can't ignore.
How long has the administration known? Did Petraeus beat the lie detector on his vetting as CIA Director? Or has the administration known all along? Who authorized the FBI investigation, and how come, since there is apparantley no crime alleged? And, her is the nut of it, what was Petraeus told to say about Benghazi? and who told him? Did he or his people knowingly provide false briefing to the dupe US UN Ambassador? And if not Petraeus, who?
But be assured of one thing, dear fellow freeper, the bonfire has started, and it wont be going away soon. Stay tuned.

I don’t fully get it. The head of the CIA is investigated by the FBI...and he doesn’t know it is occurring? I thought the CIA had a way of knowing everything. If anything, the head of the CIA should have the goods on everyone else. Something isn’t right with this situation.
I hope you are right, but I am inclined to think that instead of increasing the scrutiny on the whole Benghazi episode, Petraeus' affair simply gives the liberal media a way to say they covered it by ONLY focusing on the sex.
It also sets up Petraeus as the ultimate fall guy for the administration. They will paint him as the guy who made the bad decisions because his mind was so pre-occupied with his affair. Therefore, the rest of the administration gets absolved of wrongdoing. Let's move on. Nothing to see here.
The affair is mis-direction.
it's only about sex...private matter...none of our business...Republicans wallowing in sex again, just like Clinton/Lewinsky...nothing to see.
I have -0- ZERO confidence in the press to do its job. They just spent years getting their guy re-elected. They aren't going to knock him over now.
Scandal is the only thing left available to stop Obama.

Petraeus had sex under the desk with his biographer Paula Broadwell...
And Obama’s book was written by Bill Ayers....
Now this is a story the NYT can’t resist. Sex & scandal. What a cryin’ shame.
However, this election has shown us a preponderance of its people don't give a flying flip about things like that. They only want free crap, and more of it. Even if Obama has to take it away from old white men, they don't care - they getting paid!
All this is going nowhere. It will stay nowhere until it all breaks down and we are all equal, but poor.
This 'collection' of immigrants, illegal and not, minorities, sloths and no-goods are only in it for what they can get from others, and for a right-good measure of revenge for pent up anger. Liars, cheats, and stealers all voting to 'get theirs'.

And not just any biographer, a man eater babe, sending out intense aggressive sex vibe. If you don't believe me, look at some of the youtubes of her.
Note the dress, the arms, the body language.
So my question to Petraeus, at what point did you first think hmmm..., might want to nail this one. First time you met is my guess, Why would he have agreed to that? And if you are his commanding officer, why would you have allowed a warfighter to have a “biographer”?
The whole thing speaks to a level of hubris and self importance that i find disturbing, but common in DC.
The dinosaur media is dead. New media now calls the shots!
The MSM has been covering stuff up, but they can't away with that anymore!
Their business model has failed -- now they have no choice but to tell the truth!
All they need to do is keep quiet until after the election, then they will tell us what we already know.
This has been a constant drumbeat throughout 2012 -- but it was a constant drumbeat in 1996 too. And 2000. And 2004. And 2008. And every year in between.
The media covers what it wants to cover -- and it does not want to cover scandals that make Democrats look bad.

I watched Obama make recess appointments when there was no recess
I watched Obama executive order Amnesty.
I watch the EPA closing down coal when Carbon Credit went down the tube.
I watched as Arapaio proved the Birth Certifictae to be phony
I watched as the Social Security card Obama holds is invalid. I watched Roberts make his own law instead of upholding the Constitution.
I watched as Obama watched 4 men killed in Benghazi and said it wasn’t optimal.
Excuse me if I am cynical or pessimistic, This won’t amount to squat.
Just another thing to add to my list of atrocities.
General Petreaus would have been thoroughly investigated and polygraphed prior to becoming head of the CIA. That means he was given the position despite his affair. That also means the President knew it before Petreaus became head of the CIA.
This leads me to believe that President Obama was blackmailing Petreaus to lie about Benghazi. It is the Chicago way. Blackmail is a felony. Pray for the Generals health. Blackmail is a felony!
The death of William Colby was very mysterious.
Some say it was because of The Franklin Cover Up.
Others think it was the Clintons.
In any case, the head of the CIA is a dangerous job.
I have never understood why they pulled Panetta out and put Petraeus in.
Now, maybe we are finding out why.

I read in another article the FBI got a complaint from an unidentified woman she received threats from Broadwell through e-mails. While investigating the e-mails the FBI was concerned the Petraeus e-mail account had been hacked and a security breach had occurred. Did Broadwell have access to the CIA top secret computers? Probably not. If Petraeus's PC was hacked, that wouldn't be a National security breach on an unclassified computer.
Petraeus is a guy who made people go running with him to prove that he was a better man by being able to outrun them. Do you think someone that insecure might have an affair with a younger, good looking woman to prove he’s still virile?
Who is the biggest loser in this whole episode? Scott Broadwell, 43, Radiologist who has been cockolded on national TV. Maybe he absorbed too many x rays??
From what I gather, Mrs Broadwell, soon to be the former?, used Patraeus private PC to send hate e mails to some other babe. Wow.
Next year’s new reality show: CIA Director Relationships, above and below sight line.
BROADwell, aptly named. Reminds me of some of the better names of Bond Girls but I will not get into that now.
