Comment on this statement --- We have become a nation of "Wimps".

Posted on 11/10/2012 8:32:40 PM PST by jongaltsr

We have been taken over by "Popularity" and "Idol" worship.

Facts don't matter.

Results of our actions don't matter.

Only the "Beautiful People" are to be admired.

Want something? You deserve it! No need to work for it! Government "Promises" they will provide everything.

People don't have to be smart. Hell - the government will think for us.

The Popular and The Beautiful "RULE"

Those that think for themselves are just stupid jerks.

Those that are responsible for themselves, their family and friend are just "silly fools".

Isn't that what this last election just proved? We have no alternative but to accept these facts and submit. We CAN'T fight because that just wouldn't be right. There you go folks. You are stuck and haven't the rights (or the backbone" to fight back.

Personally, I wouldn’t use the term “we” because I doubt your statements apply generally to people reading your post.

Also, rather than wimps I would say the nation is becoming a nation of savages: ignorant, materialistic, self-gratifying, tribalistic and prideful.

while true that "we" can't do anything about the massive, massive widespread fraud in this election....probably lots others too....we can adjust our own little lives...

get off the material grid...

become more family/church/community oriented...

we can't solve the big issues...

but we can form a network of people with values, and try to live our lives as well as we can...

save your dough...

learn to do your own things...

keep healthy...

read and study..

listen to good music..

if we SMILE and if we are HAPPY it'll drive the pathetic shallow nothings in this country mad...

let them drug themselves or drink themselves to oblivion....

let them erase every moral fiber from their little twisted minds, and let them live in their filth...

someday, this country will need a strong set of people who know how to do things and know how to work...

wasn't there a time in Russia where the Russian govt had to encourage German workers to come to Russia to work the fields, because the Russian people were inept?... we could be those Germans

OR think of ourselves as the Koreans on top of those buildings....

Those that are responsible for themselves, their family and friend are just "silly fools"....unless there is a power outage in which case people who believe in personal responsibility are usually a lot better prepared.

Another term would be “feminized,” and the effort to bring it about has been overt for years. Remember when stereotypically “male” behavior and values were actually held up as examples of virtue rather than an object of ridicule? How many American males of today’s generation would march through snow, hungry, pox-ridden and with bloody rags covering their feet, just for the chance to fight a superior force in the cause of their own freedom?

Being a “wimp” means being weak or timid. On one hand, our culture has become more violent, but the problem is, we fight over the wrong things. Inconsequential things, like someones words or attitude, or the kind of sneakers they are wearing.

I think you’re right in that we no longer have the desire to fight for what most of “us” learned were important things, things worth fightin for. Like liberty, the flag, traditional values, the sanctity of marriage, the right to pursue happiness but not the guarantee of it. And that, I believe, is because we’ve allowed our institutions to drift away from those values. You may say it’s no excuse, but when unionized teachers fail to teach our kids about what made this country great, and instead fill their skulls with mush about what is “fair” and politically correct nonsense - how can you blame those kids for not being willing to stand up and fight for those things?

And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. / And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: / And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.

— Leviticus 26:18-20
The further left the country slid, the more this started happening.

Exactly. I'm reminded of the line in the third Indiana Jones film, about being "...pilgrims in an unholy land".

This IS hardball.
It requires tough love....
Remember the after school program ‘Mom’s on Strike’ from the 80’s?
I’m not being flippant - here’s the episode:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELMJ9_bYDFU

(I watched it a couple of days ago after the election - I seeked it out - it’s 80’s hokie but it makes the point...)

Stop it...all of it...go on strike.

Same thing
Go Galt

No spending, no charity, no Christmas spending, no eating out, etc. (heck, I’m already doing most of this because of this monotonous stagnant economy)

Stop the madness, tough love et al.

Rip the band aid off quick - let the country air out so it can heal.

Agreed to all points.
Drop out, force the Guberment into default and those that can’t take care of themselves will just keep voting for more empty promises.

THEY WILL NEVER LEARN - BUT THEY WILL STARVE OR COME TO YOUR HOUSE TO TAKE FOOD FROM YOU AT GUNPOINT.

Then you have the right to defend yourself. Well.....You used to have to right to defend yourself but now nobody will have that right but when people start shooting back the Guberment won’t be able to control the people because it will just snowball.

Actually not many did then. Although I am a direct descendant of one who did I have no insight into his heroism. He was the son of an impecunious farmer who owned a small tract of marginal land in what is now Stafford County, Va. He was accepted as a volunteer into the 5th Dragoons (Baylor's ) regiment. That means he and his family paid for a good horse and the horse furniture. A big investment for his family. Maybe some wealthy persons paid into a fund to help such men fit themselves out. I don't know. He nearly died of wounds from the Pawling New York surprise. Recovered and returned to Virginia and went back to his father's farm. He enrolled in the organized militia of Virginia, was mobilized for Cornwallis’ invasion of the Carolinas and was wounded again at Guilford Courthouse. He recovered and returned to his father's farm and returned to the life of a marginal farmer in Virginia. What caused this man to do what only a relative few did then remains a closed book. I only know that such men really do exist and i expect they are among us today.Perhaps the hour of destiny is about to strike again. Who can say?
