Petraeus sex scandalKrauthammer: Petraeus Sex Scandal Will Drive Media Interest In Benghazi
The Daily Caller ^ | 8:28 PM 11/09/2012 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 11/09/2012 5:52:17 PM PST by classified

On Friday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus was a regrettable situation that might ultimately help shed light on the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya.

“We will unravel all the threads of this in time,” Krauthammer said. “We’re just in the first few hours, but I think it’s worth noting what we do know. This is the end of a career of a truly great American. He did something that hadn’t been done by a general since the Inchon landing in the Korean War, when MacArthur by a maneuver managed to save a war that was being lost and save South Korea.”

“No one had done anything like that until David Petraeus did that in 2007 and 2008 in Iraq,” Krauthammer continued. “That was a lost war. It was headed for chaos, civil war, bloodshed and unending trouble for us. And he pulled off a surge that rescued the war. What happened after in Iraq and what happened after in Korea are other stories, but that is undeniable. It is one of the great achievements, and he pulled it off. He distinguished himself in Afghanistan. And whatever happens and whatever we learn, this is a real tragedy.”

Anyone notice the timing of this scandal?

Petraeus didn't resign because he had a guilty conscience.

Petraeus resigned because someone promised not to leak the story if he resigned AFTER the election.

By the way, weren't some of us, me included, fantasizing about Petraeus as the Republican nominee at the beginning of the year?

God watches over drunks, little children, and on occasion, the Republican Party.

Good Grief. Charles, you’re a good guy and a smart man, but stay away from discussing military strategy. He compares “The Surge” to “Inchon”? MacArthur is spinning in his grave. Charles, let me explain the brilliance of “The Surge” strategy.

He asked for more troops.

Wow. In the history of warfare, I’ll bet nobody else ever asked for more troops.

Inchon was a brilliant amphibious assault that took real thought and planning and support and coordination and risk.

The Surge was like ordering French fries at McDonalds. Brilliant?

There was a little more to it than that, but, yeah, it was no Inchon.

There have been so many times in the last 4 years where I thought, “Surely, this is so egregious, so dishonest that MSM will have to acknowledge it to save face.” Benghazi should have caught fire after the first emails/cables.

New acronym: ITHBAR -If that had been a Republican..

Maybe.
One problem here is that the circumstances may have been set up to silence Petraeus.

- As a serving head of the CIA he could be asked about secret matters (in secret), and he could be asked for documents. However,

- As a private citizen he would not be able to answer anything without specific clearance from the CIA, nor could he present documents. Depending on how this turns out and what games the CIA and the administration play, he may be unable to testify in any significant way at all.

Also, what if the real blackmail is not just the obvious business of his affair, but also the ongoing investigation of himself or his mistress for security violations ? Just admitting the affair would not end their hold on him.

COME ON THIS ISNT HARD

Patraues has an affair

Jarrett finds out and uses it against Patraeus to stop him from telling the truth to congress

Patraeus admits it himself and resigns...knowing congress can still compel him to testify. He found some honor in outing himself.

11 I recall reading somewhere that there is Charles Krauthamer, brilliant Conservative pundit that is 99% spot on....Then there is “evil” Charley...that pops out once in a while.

When referencing CK always bear in mind ...
1. He is Jewish.
2. He was a speech writer for Walter Mondale back in 1980.
3. He has been a long-time writer for The New Republic.
4. During SEP-OCT 2008 he said on FoxNews that he thought BHO would make a good president. Can't find a link for this 1, but I saw and I heard it myself. Couldn't believe it.

Total BS...he’s falling on his sword per orders as he will have to take the fall for Libya...there is no coincidence he has to reveal an affair three days after the election - they knew, it was simply a matter of where O could pull out the election...I an (generally) not a conspiracy theorist, but this is too coincidental...

He will take his pension, make up with his wife and disappear for a few years.

I hope he finds peace, because he is living through a personal hell right now.

He needs our prayers, not our dissection.

I agree that something along those lines occured.

ITHBAR - I like it!

The media is “all in” for Obama. I kept saying they would cover this, or they would cover that, and one day I finally realized they would not pay real attention to any story that might harm their chosen one. Obama is the pinnacle of their dream - multicultural man of color who shares their worldview and politics.

You have to be the total package and he is as close as a man can get.

Not if it hurt Obama. That would be racist.

Just ask Chris Matthews.

But what about Obama's lost wars in Libya, Egypt and Syria.

I have always felt he was inserted by the left as smoke and mirrors. (Part of the Dialectical Materialism-—pitting “opposites” to get a synthesis). He is the slippery slope to utopianism. He is a distraction—albeit, an intellectual one——but to keep the “right” placated——keep them from really seeing reality and doing what needs to be done.

All Rove’s men are part of the Leftist strategy (the dialectic) to move us to communism. The elite control Rove and Fox News and, yes, Romney. They own both the Republican and Democrat parties. They are all Marxists/Freemason/One Worlders. That is why they are revolted by the Tea Party and people like Alan West and Bachmann and boo God.

We would have won short term by electing Romney-—but we would have still been heading toward that One World Government. Romney would have embraced the UN and perversions and the welfare state-—just not as overtly as Zero which is actually more dangerous for our country.’’

Romney would not have changed direction-—and we are heading into a Marxist hell-hole—One World government.

America knew General Douglas MacArthur, Krauthammer, and Petraeus is no MacArthur.

The Inchon Invasion, September 1950

This stunning Iraqi victory Krauthammer credits Petraeus produced an expressway for Ahmadinejad's convoys to resupply Syrian fighters.

Petraeus as DCI was the nominal head of an agency established by the National Security Acts of 1947 and 1949 to furnish intelligence for the president, not arm various muslim militias or brotherhoods.

Petraeus' despicable failure of character is not limited to marital infidelity, rather it is eclipsed by dereliction of duty.

There is an oath. There is a nation.

Obedience to tyrants warrants the stiffest penalties, in the civil and military tribunals and at last before the Highest Court.

MacArthur, Charles?

You defile the name.
