Did Winning The Elections of 2010 Cost The Republicans In 2012?

The most immediate impact of the Republican victory in 2010 was that Obama was forced to agree to an extension of the Bush tax cuts for two more years.

His own Marxist impulses were also kept in check by the Republican House.

The net impact of this is that it allowed the economy to grow, albeit at a tepid pace... but just enough to make people think that things were getting slightly better.

If Pelosi had been left in power after 2010 to act as Obama's rubber stamp on his Marxist policies, the economy would have spiraled out of control, and presumably handing the election to the Republicans in 2012.

So the irony is that the great victory of 2010 may have had the inadvertent effect of handing victory to the Dems in 2012.

something is not right about this..polls were oversampling dems so no way did they win without cheating in some way..

I have thought along these lines. While it is painful out there, evidently it has not been painful enough.

I think a more pertinent question is ....

A lot of us said we’d never vote for Romney and yet a lot of us held our noses and we did.

If we had known this would be the outcome... would we have had the balls to stand our ground?

In many ways this may be the absolute best thing and best result for our nation we could have ever hoped for...

The GOP is going to fail their self-evaluation and they should. We should waste no time stripping away the flesh from their old white rino bones and feeding it to a new younger top dog.

And then we should turn that hungry dog loose on the democrats.

Lots of conservatives delude themmselves. In national elections democrats have a bigger pool of voters to draw from than republicans. Obama’s machine corrals the urban vote at levels that just can not be beat at this time. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Republicans won 56% of the Congressional Seats in a D+6 electorate because most of that D+6 electorate comes from
urban areas where they turn out the vote in big, big numbers with wide, wide margins for the dems.

This ain’t rocket science.
