Some Voting Observations (Boortz)
Nealz Nuze ^ | 11/8/12 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 11/09/2012 5:51:02 AM PST by NotchJohnson

As the days pass, we gain more distance and, therefore, clarity with exactly what happened in our nation on Tuesday. Here are a few stories/observations to consider, and perhaps the Republicans should take note.

The percentage of the youth vote actually INCREASED from 2008 to 19% of the electorate. In other words, the Millennial generation actually seems to be more politically engaged, compared to young generations of the past. This doesn’t make them more informed -- as demonstrated by their overwhelming support for Barack Obama -- but they are showing up to the polls. What did Mitt Romney do to arouse the youth vote for the Republicans?

It now seems clear that the Romney campaign couldn’t even get those people who voted for McCain to the polls to vote for him. How pathetic is that? Will the next GOP presidential candidate once again use this same tired cadre of campaign managers and advisors?

The percentage of non-white voters increased by 2% since 2008, and non-white voters now make up 28% of the electorate. When it comes to white voters, they still make up the largest voting block of 72% of the electorate and Barack Obama only managed to get 39% of the white vote.

Romney won the married vote by 14% over Obama. To put that into perspective, in 2008 Barack Obama lost the married vote to John McCain but only by 5%. Romney carried married women by 7% but Obama carried the single women vote by a margin of 67% to Romney’s 31%. Single men also voted for Obama by a 16% margin.

Obama won the fastest growing minority group by a whopping 47% … that group would actually be Asians.

Remember that turbo-loon Republican Congressman from Georgia? Talking her about Paul Broun. He didn’t cost the GOP quite as many votes as Aiken and Mourdock, but he certainly didn’t help. This is the lunatic who said that evolution is a “lie from the pits of hell” and that the earth is only about 6000 years old. And – sit down while you read this – he is on the House Science and Technology Committee. Well, while we were discussing this ignoranus on the air I suggested that, since he was unopposed, the voters in his district should write in Charles Darwin on the ballot. Well .. they did! Darwin got 4,000 votes! Here’s your story.

I’m not the first person to make this observation, but America’s demographics have changed. If the GOP doesn’t figure out how to adapt, it will be relegated to the history books.

Seeing that many stayed home because they didnt want to vote for a Mormon, I have to wonder which one was actually more pathetic.

Expressing a specific group’s participation as a percentage of the total participants does not tell us very much about their enthusiasm. What percentage of the all Millennials turned out to vote? What percentage are they of the total voting age population?

And I listened to Boortz for years and what he used to call The Christian Right has always driven him a little batty.

I work at a university. “O” was everywhere and even professors walked around with “O” tee shirts.

Mitt had NO presence here that I could see...Legitimate or ‘tee shirt wearing professors’ - which I feel was highly irregular, no matter WHO you supported!

He was right about too many people being on the take. His question was would you rather have someone say work hard and you can live the American Dream or relax and you will be taken care of? It has been said many times that when the electorate can vote for more stuff it is over.

These do not seem factually correct:

1) "The percentage of the youth vote actually INCREASED from 2008 to 19% of the electorate. In other words, the Millennial generation actually seems to be more politically engaged....

True?

2) "It now seems clear that the Romney campaign couldn’t even get those people who voted for McCain to the polls to vote for him....."

Factually correct?

If so, how? How does this jibe with anecdotal reports of large Romney rallies and small Obama rallies in the days prior to the election? How does this jibe with the presumably anti-Obama showing of mid-term elections? Is voting fraud somehow underneath this? Is demographic liberalization creep underneath this? Is their an evangelicals-against-liberal-Mormon-Romney component?

Seeing that many stayed home because they didnt want to vote for a Mormon,

Nobody stayed home.

Romney got MORE "Bible Belt" votes just based on RAW TOTALS counted so far (keep in mind states aren't done voting) in OK/TX/MO/AR/LA/MS/AL/GA/TN/KY/SC/NC than McCain did.

If anyone would have stayed home because Romney was a RINO or a Mormon, it would have been in those states.

Can't have someone who Conservatives will actually vote for now can we?

I fear this is the beginning to blame the loss on Paul Ryan instead of Me-Too-Mitt.

I don't know what Boortz is thinking.

In other words, the Millennial generation actually seems to be more politically engaged, compared to young generations of the past.

This scares the ever-living shit out of me. An entire generation of kids has grown up through socialist schools thinking they are owed something by Uncle Sam. They think it's okay to "occupy" and demand and that if they don't get their way, to riot.

The 60s spawned a generation of men and women who screwed up our nation in the 70s and early 80s. They preached free love and "expanding your mind" through the use of drugs. Those boomers are now poor, belligerent Liberal hippies who think social security should be their lifeline for everything.

Now we have the Millenials who grew up watching a President lie under oath, admit to smoking pot, and have his dirty laundry aired across the world. But it was okay... he played sax on SNL. He was COOL!

Then comes along Barack Hussein Obama, the Marxist Kenyan faggot who admitted to smoking pot, doing coke, having casual sex with men, and openly discriminating against white people, and he somehow deserves the title of President of the United States.

Listen, Kennedy's dalliances were at least kept under wraps. Clinton's, while openly public, were at least with a woman. Now we've got a guy who admits to drug use, homosexual encounters, and is more openly espousing Islam as a commanding religion, and our YOUTH is accepting of that?

We are so screwed.

Methinks Boortz is slipping. Can’t hardly listen to him anymore. He’s chosen the perfect time to retire. Patiently waiting for Herman.

Good summary and so true.

The non thinkers outnumber the thinkers, and the takers are looking forward to getting more from the makers.

Liberals are in control of the public schools. Conservatives need to find a way to get around this and educate youths. Also whites need to start sticking together the way all other groups do, somehow by reaching out and educating them, at the same time it doesn’t hurt to reach out to minority groups since they might actually like freedom and real opportunity.

Actually, Romney got more voters to the polls for him than McCain did in NH, NC, VA, FL, CO, NV, IA, and WI. He had fewer in OH and PA. I wonder if the overall turnout out decrease has more to do with voters and non-swing states becoming accustomed to not mattering much.

It has been said many times that when the electorate can vote for more stuff it is over.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

Ya know, I’m tired of being called racist because I disagree with a black man’s idea of the world. Racism is the belief that yours is superior to others.

When the first Europeans landed in America, did the natives call them racist? No! They were understandably xenophobic, but we learned from each other and grew as one. Sure the subjugation of tribes was widespread, but that’s going to happen in any case of “new world discovery.”

That aside, I do agree that whites need to start trying to “win over” the minds of other whites, because so many of us are snowed into believing that we’re somehow guilty of something that none of us were complicit in to begin with.

BESIDES... Barack Hussein Obama and his predecessors were highly likely to have been involved in the slave trade moreso than any of Romney’s or any other white man’s ancestry alive in America today. Obama has the voting masses completely snowed and drinking from a very large trough of “feel good Kool Aid.” I’m waiting for his Jim Jones moment when those troughs become poisoned wells.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else find it comical that Obama won the votes of women, more specifically single women, yet he espouses the idea of Sharia law with subjugates women to the status of chattel?

Everything this man does is retrograde to the direction we’ve been going for the last 100 years, yet people are too dumb to realize it. I’m consistently shocked by the ignorance of our population.
