How will GOP solve fiscal cliff riddle?
Politico ^ | 11/8/12 11:09 PM EST | By STEVEN SLOAN and KELSEY SNELL

Republicans know they’re going to have to budge on revenues in the looming debt and spending debate. The question is when to blink.

The problem: Revenue increases, which could solve the fiscal cliff riddle this fall, are also their best bargaining chip for an even bigger fight to overhaul the Tax Code expected next year. GOP lawmakers — especially those on the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee — say tax increases should happen only as part of a fundamental Tax Code rewrite that also lowers marginal tax rates, a policy dream that won’t be realized until next year at the earliest.

So with 53 days left until the U.S. plunges off the fiscal cliff, House Speaker John Boehner will have to decide whether to sacrifice revenue earlier than he and other Republicans had hoped — and right now, he’s not saying.

please consider www.fairtax.org It is a single-rate, federal retail sales tax collected at the final point of purchase of new goods and services for personal consumption. It was first introduced as legislation in 1999 and now pending in Congress with several congressional cosponsors. If the Fair Tax legislation passes, the Sixteenth Amendment, which allws the income tax, will be repealed under companion legislation.. PLEASE RESEARCH this tax revenue replacement.. I have studied it and believe would be a great step in making aware to the citizen the actual cost of our government. If you can support it call your congressperson and Senator’s and ask them to support it.. Pass this on to all your friends get the book by Ken Hoagland “The Fairtax Solution”

it doesn’t matter if you leave or if you don’t. You aren’t going to change anything either way. Your campaign has come to an end. You’re like the 90 year old Japanese soldier living in a cave on a south pacific Island still fighting WW2.

Then why don’t you join the Democrat Party?

that dog don’t hunt. I have never voted for a Democrat and the secret service ordered me to stay away from Bill Clinton so don’t call me a liberal. I’m a pragmatic conservative, not a liberal. If there were more of me, we wouldn’t be questioning the future of conservatism and the GOP today, we would be celebrating the prospects of our future.

No.... I will NEVER support "Fair Tax"...Retail would crumble, thousands of people would be out of work.

FLAT TAX, like everyone in an area pays the SAME SALES TAX, we need everyone to pay the same PERCENTAGE after personal exemptions, to pay the same PERCENTAGE!
