I know your joking, but it does bring up a basic issue of work, that we MUST work to be happy in life. I heard a British preacher once say “We Christians work so we can make a pot of money and give it all away! We are made by God to be productive. We are not of those who say ‘Thank God it’s Friday!’ We’d work even if they didn’t pay us.”
Pretty lofty, but it appeals to my inner spirit. I fall short here, but I do believe we should work hard regardless of the traps laid by the government. We cannot be happy being a slug on welfare. They will be shamed at the Judgment for laziness (barring legitimate need, of course), and who wants that?
Later their eugenically created child Julia, lives each stage of her life fulfilled by the government outline that has been chosen for her.
