Need to rant, sorry ahead of time for the tirade, The people have spoken and I have changed my political position. I am no longer anti-tax and I will support any and all tax and fee increases going forward at every level of government for the next 4 years. Raise property taxes, raise the sales tax, enact tolls on all bridges, tunnels, and interstates, raise the gas tax, add a milage tax... and on the federal side raise the income tax, not just on the rich, but for everybody, let the payroll tax reduction expire, raise the healthcare tax/penalty, raise all fees, and eliminate all tax credits and deductions. I am now an all of the above kind of guy. Afterall, that is what we have been voting for. Free healthcare, free birth control, free food, free trains and free train rides, free cell phones, cash for clunkers, free arenas with a new basketball team, free development everywhere, it goes on and on. It is about time people see what it is like to pay for all this free stuff. Until then, we will never get back on track, but instead will keep voting for free stuff until the Ponzi Scheme crashes. Raise taxes, fees, and tolls on all.
Out of all that, property tax going skyhigh is one of the worst.
In theory a person could get some land, a house, and just live simply, but if they make it unaffordable to even own property, then that is the true fulfillment of the collective.
I would suggest anyone thinking of moving out “to the country” to take into account which states are turning more purple, like VA, FL, NC, CO etc, and possibly avoid them. Look at which areas have low property tax and aren’t turning Blue. Even if an area in VA, CO has low Prop Tax now, they might explode as those states turn more Blue.
Some things are avoidable with dramatic steps, but Property Tax attacks one of the main planks of freedom...and the freedom of the hermit...so to speak.
I would too rather see the Bush Tax Cuts all be allowed to expire on everyone than to have them made permanent for just those making nder $250,000 per year.. People want a welfare state, they need to feel the pain of paying for it. The entire country is gong the way of Detroit and California. If it happens faster rather than slower, people may be shocked awake. The GOP House needs to go all in on the Bush tax cuts. Either they are all made permanent, or none of them.
Elections have consequences!! Boehner stop all bills going through the house. The fiscal cliff will happen and huge tax increases will happen!!!!!
The problem with the current system is that some people actually try to make it in the free market economy while others just look to government to give them everything.
I’ve often thought it would be much more fair that if we are going to have socialism, just let it apply to everyone. At least that way, everyone would know where they stand.

Before you plunge into the abyss of State “relief” remember exactly who you’ll be dealing with... government employees. Your life will no longer be yours, your parental decisions will no longer be yours. And if the state decides they can do a better job at parenting they will take away your rights as easily as pulling your library card. Instead I propose you continue to be the best you can be. To invest in YOUR ideas and endure the coming crisis - where we, the Exceptional Americans will come out of this mess with head held high.
I agree 100 % with you raise all taxes. The stupid Californians just voted to raise taxes even though I didn’t, but like you I’ve changed my mind. Raise taxes on everybody.
Some in my family had owned their house bought in the 60s and had low property taxes under prop 13—they all voted for the communist in the white house. Now the California Legislature has a super majority—rats, of course and now (excuse me while I ROTFLMAO) the dems want to overturn prop 13, they will find their taxes increase ten fold!!! hahahahahaha!
I have never been dependent on the government but since is now being encouraged I plan on being a proud American and take full advantage. Whatever is available I will avail myself to. Food stamps, benefits, tax loopholes, when free medical care comes I will be a one man hospital and take advantage of as many check ups, teeth cleanings and exercise programs as I can snatch. Any little ache I will classify as a disability and take advantage there. I will sue anything that crosses me. I will disown my heritage and claim to be 1/2 Navajo. Let them friggnnn prove it. I have black hair and high cheekbones. I’ll bust this budget all on my lonesome.
I’m all for it. I hope my taxes go up drastically.

The Dems will certainly bring in a VAT tax if they ever get full control again. And it doesn’t appear in Europe that they create enough of a backlash to ever get repealed.
So purists “conservatives” who stayed home ( 3 million less votes for Romney than Mccain) and campaigned against Romney have now installed Obama as dicttator for life. Obama will grow the government so much to reach the tipping point where he can become dictator ( as Chavez did). So all the purists and those that didn’t vote or voted for 3r party gave our country , our liberty and our lives over to a peice of crap called Obama .
