I think it would just be easier to use blank silver coins.

I found a bunch of manufacturers that make unstruck silver coins.

You can get them as blanks for all kinds of coins. As long as you don’t mark the coin, you can effectively trade it instead of using currency.

It doesn't have to be complicated. You don't have to unite, just take their jobs. If a state like Texas announced that any company that locates NEW manufacturing facilities in the state, employing over 500, will be exempt from tax assessments for a period of 50 years, wouldn't they have takers from higher taxed companies in blue state? Over 250 employees? 25 years. Extend it to current Texas-based manufacturers too. Encourage local sourced supplies by extending the exempt period as long as the company consumes 75% Texas manufactured materials.

In short, create a micro-nation within the confines of the borders of Texas. While you would have to take "immigrants" from other states, make sure the state constitution forbids substantially most transfer payments and maintains a right-to-work status, while making the threshold to amend an insurmountable number.

"...and you're on thin ice with a number of federal laws."

I was reviewing this thread just now and had a thought about your comment.

When has the Obamanation Administration ever cared about enforcing federal law? They obviously could care less about enforcing federal immigration law.

The Constitution is a joke to them.

The Bill of Rights is a joke to them.

Federal law is a joke to them.

The United States is a joke to them.

Are we still a nation of laws? Is the federal government still bound by law? Apparently not. Liberals openly brag about ignoring laws. And now that BHO has gained a second term they are going to be even more aggressive and open in flaunting any other laws that still remain.

So does anyone seriously believe they would suddenly give a damn about enforcing any other federal laws if Texas or any other states decided to secede from the Union?

BTW I have enjoyed all your posts on this subject.

Thanks, Glad you enjoyed my comments!

On the subject of this administration following the law of the land, it seems they are selectively doing so when the law supports a position they've taken. Usually one that increases their power/control of the rest of us.

I wouldn't bet money against the Obama administration prosecuting anyone felt to represent a threat to their control, to the fullest extent possible. Remember the whistle blowers recently in the news:

"Eric Holder, attorney general under President Barack Obama, has prosecuted more government officials for alleged leaks under the World War I-era Espionage Act than all his predecessors combined, including law-and-order Republicans John Mitchell, Edwin Meese and John Ashcroft."

That said, I doubt much serious federal action would ensue if a state like Texas decided to secede. You would probably see things like air travel curtailed until Texas by cutting off hydrocarbon changed the feds mind about continuing such.

Empires were built on gold currency. Paper fiat money is a relatively new phenomenon. If I had to choose between “convenience” and freedom I choose freedom. Because tyranny is never convenient.

The GOP holds close to a super majority in the State Legislature, a Dim got elected Governor, the Dim Testor won the US Senate seat and Romney carried the state by about 10%. Montana voters don't vote straight party tickets..

Relief from Federal Tyranny will come from the state houses. The cities think they can control entire states. Well the local state govt will out, we need all red state legislatures..
