For quite a while I have been considering going Galt. This election is a tipping point for me. I live on PA and things are not getting better. But living in PA isn't the entire problem. There has been a progressive assault on freedom and liberty in our nation for decades.
Are there others considering going Galt or off the grid?
Many have already. Going galt doesn’t have to be the same degree for everyone, the whole point is lowering your profile and reducing income as much, paying in as little as possible, up to what you are comfortable doing.
How is another story, but I don't plan on just blithely accepting a corrupt government's claim on my time and enterprise.
The government will just track the messages. I’m slightly interested, but I need to tell someone some things that may determine my future.

I’m in Pa as well. To the degree anyone can - it’s an easy passive way to starve the beast. I started today by asking my doc who he voted for. Political affiliation isn’t a protected class. He responded correctly so I will allow him to be the one to bill my insurance company for services rendered.

I have been here since 1998. I worked security at the FreeRepublic March for Justice. I have been to DC multiple times to protest against Clinton with freepers. Yeah, we lost a few times but we ultimately won in 2000. We won because we never stopped fighting. And it was just in time because 9/11/2001 was coming. Who remembers that day? Did you want to quit? Did you want to surrender? Did you want to go “Galt” on us when the terrorists attacked? The people on that plane said “Let’s Roll”, not “Let’s Roll Over”.
We’ll survive this like we have always survived. We trained for the next fight. I have been on the front lines with freepers who have lost their lives. What the Hell would we say to them? Oh Chief Negotiator, we’re scared? Oh Harpseal, it’s too hard. Oh Militiaman7, what if we get hurt? Oh Ladyx, I’m tired. Oh Congressman Billybob, we’ll never win. Oh BCM, do I have to do it?

Live one day at a time. Serve your neighbors (family and those outside). Current affairs are not as dire as we tend to make them out to be, and even if they were, this life and politics is not all there is. You’ve got a lot to offer - more than you think. You’re not alone!! I suggest refraining from any immediate big decisions unless your local circumstance absolutely demand it.
I’m not all that familiar with what “Going Galt” means. I suspect it means dropping off the radar, as it were. That probably describes 80% of the Untited State population, inasmuch as they just don’t care about this stuff like you and I do.
Make no mistake about it, we still live in a country that is blessed beyond belief when it comes to natural resources and heritage. Today’s politcal milieu points to an uptick in terms of incivility, so it is incumbent upon us to work with our neighbors to maintain and instill more of it.

Already gone. It’s been working out very well the last 4 years. Non-essential spending is at a minimum. Immediate family gatherings have increased. Philosophies of freedom and faith are discussed regularly and grow stronger. Everybody is working and receiving awards/raises/accolades. Everyone is trained for using firearms. We are healthy, cohesive, coherent and have never been stronger. Life in this collective of family and friends is FANTASTIC!
We have DEFUNDED socialist collectives, spoken out against BIG GOVERNMENT socialism/totalitarianism and DEPOPULATED socialists/liberals/progressives/liars/deceivers/totalitarians/parasites from our lives and voted against them in our government.

I went Galt three years ago. Upping the anti this morning, I bought a 2000 gallon fuel tank to be delivered tomorrow. All of our vehicles and tractors are diesel.

I plan on starting a thing called I-CAN (Indiana Conservative Action Network). We will (hopefully) be able to hold CIVICS classes in the local library - Constitution, History, Social/Governmental Theory w/some solid conservative principles.
I am hoping to start a grassroots campaign (on the local level and eventually the state level) to return integrity to the election process. Actual prosecution of voter fraud, tighter controls, etc...

Granted, Philadelphia, Scranton and Pittsburgh aren’t places to be in or even near, but PA is a large state with a “conservative middle”, and there are plenty of “Galt’s Gulches” to be found there, where one can hide right in plain sight. Just came back from one on election day.

The Republicans won because people got sick of Clintoon and there were still sufficient numbers wanting the American Dream. Today, more than half don’t even know what that dream is and many more have had that dream stomped on. There are now more than half of the people getting a check from the federal government and many more getting a check from the State.
