Ann Coulter: Do not underestimate the power of the incumbency.

Posted on 11/07/2012 2:46:30 PM PST by georgiegirl

Ann Coulter was just on Hannity's Radio show and said something interesting. That Obama's advantage was his incumbency and voters traditionally do not unseat an incumbent president, no matter what. (examples: Clinton and W Bush). Reagan was the only Republican able to unseat the incumbent Carter in a 100 years. Her ray of sunshine was that in the coming elections of 2014 and 2016, Republicans will have a much better chance with voters (I'm paraphrasing her)...

I think Ann has a point, but the bigger reason is -
Rino Dole
Rino McCain
Rino Romney

Sorry Ann, the proof is the track record! If the STUPID party is going to foist a rino on itself every election then at the very least the dumbass candidate should run like a conservative. Obama, with the economy in the state it's in and Obamacare alone should have given Romney the victory! Romney lost because he didn't show enough different in his policies opposed to Obama's.

Gingrinch would have won! I denounce my republican affiliation today! FU GOP/RNC!

As I speak, Mark Levin is eviscerating, in his words, frauds who attack conservatives and label them as “purists.”

I should have known he was talking about Coulter. The hair bleach fumes are messing with her brain.

I’m so sick of hearing, incumbency, Christie, Sandy,Conservatism,.

2008 Obama 69,498 McCain 59,948

2012 Obama 60,390 Romney 57,588

Please explain; the “incumbent” received 9 million less votes
Romney 2 1/2 million less voters than McCain

Sorry people it had nothing to do with Obama, it was what the likes of Coulter believe is a good candidate
With the power of incumbency Obama receive 300,000 more than the pitiful McCain. Romney couldn’t even come close.
GOP Enthusiasm gap? Pathetic

Her shameless shilling for Romney in the primary and attacking Newt turned me away from anything she has to offer.

Ann (who I used to really like) is wrong again.

By that time, the socialist policies will be so entrenched it will be impossible to remove them. So it won't matter much.

Idiot girl.

It’s all about the demographics. I’d like to ping an earlier post, but, there it is.

Slick Willie's "BJ incident" did not become public knowledge until January 1998, more than a year after his re-election.

His "kiss it" demand to Paula Jones may have been public earlier (it appeared in a magazine article but I don't remember the date) but it was dismissed as unverified slander.

He was President for 1461 days--probably there were hundreds of "BJ incidents" but none of them were publicized until Matt Drudge tore the lid off the media coverup of the Lewinsky case.

Even in 1916 when Wilson was re-elected with fewer EV his poplular vote went up, but his first election was aided by four parties.

According to UC Boulder the demographics should have favored the GOP.

The Republican Party will come back in some shape and form. Americans won’t accept a one-party state.

Its America that’s through.

If it weren’t for exconservatives like Ann, we’d have run a candidate that had a chance.
