Why Obama Won
My fevered brain | 11/7/2012 | KK

Posted on 11/07/2012 11:12:51 AM PST by KosmicKitty

Many pardons but search does not appear to be working right now.

Since 3am this morning when I got up and checked the election results, I've been trying to figure out what happened. Mr. Kitty sent me a blog post that I really think explains why BO actually won a second term.

And while it may be combination of many things, I really do believe that the main reason Obama won is because of a dramatic change to the social structure of the United States.

Those of us old enough to remember the Carter presidency believed that, like Reagan's landslide victory, people would be so fed up with the economy, high gas prices, Middle East unrest, and so on, that Romney would win and win big. (When everything old is new again)

But what we didn't consider was the change in American culture that has happened in the last 30 years. Looking at the stats on the blog I have linked to, the largest group voting for Obama is single women, with or without children. In 1980, most women having children were married. now, women are marrying later or choosing not to marry at all whether of not they have children.

What we have now is a society where the traditional male role of husband/father has been supplanted by the government. 40% of all children are being born to single mothers, more than 70% if the mother is African American. America's voting population has experienced a dramatic change in the past 30 years.

What ever the cause, feminism, careers, etc., we have to face the fact that a large number casting their vote are looking at the government as a replacement for husband and father.

I really believe that it's not that Mitt wasn't conservative enough, or the evangelicals stayed home, or whatever. It's the fact that the voting population has changed and the majority of women voting aren't voting for a president, but are voting for government to support them.

If the republicans and/or conservatives want to win, they are going to have to find a way to address the issue of government as supporter/daddy for a majority of the women voters

I don't know if this is the post you looked at (probably not), but my own take, for what it's worth: What the Right Doesn't Get About Elections
Ever since the primary debate when George Snuffleupagus seemingly out of nowhere asked Willard Mitt Romney about birth control (he’s Mormon, so I guess his position is “missionary”), we should have known how the leftists in the media and the Obama campaign (redundant, I know) intended to define the campaign. Because on radio ads, on TV, and on the web, the Democrats tried to make this election about a single issue:

The right to slut.

Or more precisely, the right to slut without the responsibility of consequences. The famous “gender gap” isn’t really a gap based on gender. The right overwhelmingly wins older and married women. The “gender gap” should more accurately be called the slut vote.

If we do that, what makes us different?

That's the question, exactly, How do we get across to a generation of women that has been raised to believe that they don't need a man and that the government will provide for them that THEY are the ones who are really suffering.

I was listening to Rush on the way home from work today and he was talking about all of the minority role models in the GOP and how they all benefitted from hard work and their parent's sacrificing for them.

How do we get across to these women that, while they may feel "liberated" they are really being enslaved? How can we explain the feeling of sacrifice and hard work and the feeling of accomplishment that comes with it?

The main reason we lost, the main reason freedom lost, is that there are now too many people in the wagon and not enough pulling it. I do think this may be the beginning of the end of civilization.

This statement nailed it!..if only it were not true

Good government starts at home.
Then proceed to your community.
If your community supports constitutional government then move to your city or county government and use the tools our Founders provided to us to make them return to constitutionality.
Continue up the chain.

Now, how does good government start at home? Mother/Father, father is the authority and the ‘leader’ of the family government. Children can learn how good government works at home.

Schools are supposed to teach civics, but don’t. In your community, use your skills to re-institute civics, so children understand the dangers of other systems of government to their freedom and well being.

This is where you begin. It is the very thing the communists in our country targeted to destroy.

Rush nailed it:

From another thread

Half the country is made of children, Obama got re-elected by being Santa Claus, and WE”RE supposed to be the ELVES that make everything!

they are going to have to find a way to address the issue of government as supporter/daddy for a majority of the women voters

The only way to address this issue is to offer them more goodies than do the democrats.

We can either choose to out-bid the democrats for their vote or we can try to convince them that liberty and self sufficiency embodied in our founding documents is the best way to go.

I think we know which message will prevail. We are screwed.

Many have asked, "What is the price of freedom?"

Last night we received the answer: $9/mo. in birth control pills.

A short photo-op with Governor Christie of New Jersey is apparently the one thing that stuck in people’s minds as they went to the voting booth.

Four long years of doing everything to destroy this Country and Hussein gets one photo op with Chris "Krispy Kreme" Christie slobbering over him on one day and it gets he re-elected.

Everything happens for a reason and we may never know or understand why this tribulation has been visited upon us.

Rush put it best today: In a country of children where the option is Santa Claus or work, what wins?

I am now of the opinion that we should surrender. Completely capitulate to the ruling party. Demand our representatives hand President Obama anything and everything he wants on a silver platter. No hesitation, it's time to stop trying to pull half the country back from a social and economic abyss, it's time to get out and help push the cart over the ledge!

We can't stop abortion, gay marriage or any of the other destructive issues that have been laid on our door step and soon the government will insist that everyone take a bite from the poison apple or else...

In time we could bring change to this country but not now, not for at least 4 years and most likely a lot more than that. We are going to have to make changes from within, we're going have to go to ground and work our way into the ruling machinery so we can toss our shoes into the gears at some point in the distant future. Good luck and God Bless the FR

Not the blog I was looking at, but that says it right there.

Confession, in my younger days I bought into the whole, I bought into the whole “a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle”. Luckily for me, with age comes wisdom and I realized that what is being sold to women is a bad set of goods.

Once you give up responsibility for yourself, you are a prisoner to those who provide for you.

How can conservatives get that message out?

I travel to urban areas throughout the country for work. I don’t think many people truly grasp the demographics that are developing in this country. They recall the days of their youth a few decades ago and see things as relatively the same.

I have been to parts of Queens, NY that literally look nothing like the United States. Huge concentrations of people, where perhaps 5 -8% were Caucasian. I am not talking about a black/white thing, I am talking about unchecked immigration that amounts to a total invasion of the country I knew as a child.

Good top ten. Suggest #11, the masterful "Vote for revenge." Our own pundits were flummoxed and could not even understand the message asking, "Revenge for what?" But for the left and all of those who are victims in their own delusional minds that they all deserve to be gods and goddesses with unlimited money, etc. Revenge is sweet, revenge is good, revenge is pay back large.

The white rich Presidential-looking Romney and his Father Knows Best family, ultra-wholesome, ultra successful etc. said "I vote for love my country." His 'vote for Country', could not resonate with our majority victim class like good old 'revenge.'

Good explanation. Any ideas on how to counter that in the future, or are we doomed to head down the path of oblivion?

That is the reason why I posted. I hope to get a discussion about what we can do to counter the victim mentality that the left pushes.

we lost because the GOP is feckless and weak...they let the rats and media carry the narrative that the Tea Party was racist, there was a war against women in the GOP, the GOP hates illegals for 4+ years now and never fought back...

I think we have to admit right now that we have lost the media. We can gripe about it all we want, but we HAVE to find a way to get our message out there.

Take away the votes cast by illegal aliens and other non-registered voters and I think it would have made all the difference.
