“We paid attention to our own business, campaigned and avoided the hysteria of the national race. Which we had no way of being involved in. Tell me, was it worth it? or should we throw in the towel now that we’ve won a couple?”

Well, I would say that you have doubts about your accomplishments. that’s too bad. Better to be a happy warrior than a doubter. Worked for RR. Keep moving FORWARD towards restoring our Republic and bringing others with you. Teach the young the folly of Statism...

I think we do better when we focus on our performance. I have never been more effective at anything than when I was focused on playing my best game, not watching them play theirs, whether it was football, baseball, hockey, business or golf.

I think my point was: what do victories gain us, if the Freeperworld is not interested in them? They follow politics like a soap opera. Half the people on here are not actively supporting any candidate and many of the others support “pipe dream” candidates that never had a chance.

I have nothing in common with conservatives who seek to “go down to glorious defeat.” Is there a name for this syndrome? It’s ok to support a Christine O’Donnell on occasion, but if everybody on Freeper supported nothing but losers, ya think maybe they are doing something wrong? Ya think? I know people here in Ct who year after year find a Christine O’Donnell and they never learn but instead are more determined to finally get it right with the latest version of Christine.

There were 100’s of teaparty folks in CT ... none of their candidates got 40%! They made a priority of taking out 10-term Rosa DeLauro in New Haven ... and lost 75% to 25% and the candidates who were in battles and ended with 48% ... nobody showed up. Long-shot celebrity candidates are more exciting.

I resigned from the right-wing “cult of defeat” in 2002. My only relapse was when I went to New Hampshire this year to try to get something going for Newt or Santorum.

Again, what is the name for this philosophy?
