Porta Rico to become State
11/7/2012 | BooBoo1000

Last night Porta Rico voted to become the 51st state. It won't matter too much financially as we have been supporting them for ever. But it will add a complete state to the " Takers" list. These people well be entitled to two new Senators, and the usual number of Representatives, and they will be allowed to vote in our Federal elections.

If it becomes a state then there will be no travel restrictions between the mainland and PR. It will be still more difficult to keep terrorists and the like out.

A vanity from someone who can’t spell Puerto Rico. Are you related to Honey Boo Boo, by any chance?

Next time, give us a link...

Puerto Rican Statehood

From the article:

A slim majority of Puerto Ricans voted Tuesday to approve a non-binding referendum that would make the island the 51st U.S. state. The measure requires final approval from Congress, so it means little for Puerto Rico right now. Still, nearly 54 percent of Puerto Ricans voted for “estadidad” — and President Obama promised to uphold their vote in the case of a “clear majority.”

http://www.chron.com/news/world/article/Puerto-Rico-governor-concedes-in-close-race-4015882.php

"A slim majority of Puerto Ricans sought to change their ties with the United States and become the 51st U.S. state in a non-binding referendum that would require final approval from Congress.
The two-part referendum asked whether the island wanted to change its 114-year relationship with the United States. Nearly 54 percent, or 922,374 people, sought to change it, while 46 percent, or 786,749 people, favored the status quo. Ninety-six percent of 1,643 precincts were reporting as of early Wednesday.
The second question asked voters to choose from three options, with statehood by far the favorite, garnering 61 percent. Sovereign free association, which would have allowed for more autonomy, received 33 percent, while independence got 5 percent."

the flag really only has room for 50 stars. but, we are a team player, PR and can take our spot. Texas will take our lone star and be very happy to leave and go our own way.
