Speculation time: how much are gun & ammo prices going to go up in the next few months? (vanity)
Me!

Posted on 11/06/2012 10:05:08 PM PST by Joseph Harrolds

Remember the Great Ammo Shortage of '09, when you couldn't find a box of .45 ACP at Wal-Mart to save your life? At the same time, prices on any vaguely tacticool firearm almost doubled.

What's going to happen this time around? Just as bad? Better? Worse?

I wouldn’t stand in front of the front door to a gun shop tomorrow morning.

There will be some uptick in prices for firearms and ammo driven by short-term demand. However, the industry as a whole has been doing so well under this administration that the production capacity now is far greater than it was 4 years ago so prices should not jump too much.

If you can get guns, ammo and reloading supplies. I remember the last time Obummer was elected there was a shortage of primers.

Guns and ammo sales this week will empty the shelves of any place that sells them.

Plenty of weapons and ammo around.

Sifting out of the above, dies and loaders will occur.

No need to get crazy. that comes later.

Try finding a Kel-Tec KSG for less than $400 over MSRP.

Increased production capacity, my Aunt Petunia... :-)

The federal gubmint will now impose a small tax on ammo. One .22 round will now have a federal tax of $13,789.09 on it.

The larger the calber, the larger the tax. A 30/30 round will have $73,987 tax on it.

I suggest you learn to beat things to death with a spiked baseball bat until that is taxed out of existance as well.

Selling your gun will get you a lot of money, money that will inflate so much it won’t be worth the paper it is printed on...

Good thing I've already purchased a few boxes of .577 Snider for my Snider-Enfield! I shudder to think how much that would be taxed!

There couldn't be a better answer than that.

Actually firearm’s prices will drop. There will be no riots tomorrow since Obummer won. That comes later, like 2 to 3 years later when the economy sinks further.

There are some models that are hard to find right now, but that usually gets better over time. There is nothing special about any of the standard firearms being manufactured today - and companies want to increase market share. The firearms are mostly manufactured by machines and in the current economic market it is very easy for firearms manufacturers to run a 3rd shift. If it is profitable enough, they will buy more machines and hire more workers.

If Obama goes after firearms (a distinct possibility) there will be a big bump until the dust settles. Remember though, he will have very little support for such a move within his own party.

That is just my .02 and your opinion may differ. I will still say the Mosin is a terrific investment at 100 bucks.

I bet that AKs and ARs are SOLD THE HELL OUT tomorrow.

Ditto that for their ammo.

The next thing they are coming for is the second.

We are fucked. Most of the shit Obama pulled in the last four doesn’t show up until January. Taxes and obamacare are going to show themselves in January. And voters will say they were not for that. Fu voters. Eat some cake.

The next thing they are coming for is the second.

You're absolutely correct.

And they're gonna come for it with a vengeance.

This president will go down in history for two things -

1. He destroyed the last vestiges of the America of our forefathers, and

2. He was the greatest firearms salesman in the history of Planet Earth.

Sales of firearms will continue strong for the next four years.
