I like LaRue and Rock River.

Whatever you’re thinking of buying, you should get it soon... along with about 10K rounds of M193.

Smith M&P15 for me, Bushmaster for her.
Both good weapons.

Go with whatever you can find on a private sale - don't be getting on any registration lists for Barry's Boys to come hunt down.

Lots of good ones to choose from. Noveske is probably one of the best. I have a Daniel Defense upper that is very nice.

There are a lot of good ones. Bunches of different configurations. That’s the beauty of the AR platform. Can’t go wrong with Colt. S&W is very popular and a great value. Probably a better question would be which ones to avoid. But, even the marginal ones have gotten to be pretty doggone good.

You can spend a whole lot more for a small gain. Or not much less for less weapon. Heck I’ve become a fan of Delton. Mostly because their website makes it so easy to order exactly what you want.Plus, they have a web presence and they are so dang nice and helpful. Some would call them “lower tier”. All I know is they work and are a good value.

BCM seems to be the “gold standard” for all the key board commandos. And, they really do have a quality product. So, here are my fearless recommendations.

1. BCM. Great reputation. Quality control. Options. Resale value.

2. Colt. Top Tier. According to many. Sets the standard for M-16 production and all specs adhered to with AR-15 production.

3. Delton. Cause I can. I like the people. Like the product. Like the variety. Like the options and ease of use by neophytes. Even if you don’t buy Delton, go to their website and configure your AR to your hearts content. Great Value IMHO.

You can’t nail down a “BEST” AR. Best price / performance trade off? Best long range performance gun? Best home defense? Best caliber AR? They aren’t all just 5.56 you know.

Colt has released the LE6920 Magpul edition available at Walmart for under a grand. It’s cool and it’s a COLT! But remember Colt now uses oversize pins. So parts are non-standard.

DPMS makes the Sporter and the Oracle. Both budget priced but pretty bare bones. You can add accessories to your taste and upgrade later.

Bushmaster has some good ones in the lower price range. But Windham Weaponry is probably a bit better (made in the old Bushmaster facility by previous Bushmaster employees).

Stag of course. Bravo Company and others if you have the money.

The best one of course is the one you have or can afford.

No matter what you pay it isn’t worth a toot if you don’t train and have ammo for it.

I’ve got a couple of Bushmasters A4s & they’re reliable enough to count on when you need it.

BRM is more important.

Try Huldra Arms (www.huldraarms.com). The tactical evo is nice, but they are expensive - it is a 223 (5.56x45). Clean off the limited amount of cosmoline, oil the outside of the bolt very lightly and never look back.

I am biased towards this AR for several reasons.

Picked up a DPMS Sporticle at walmart the added a gas piston kit from centerfiresystems.com to it before I fired it.....bolt stays spotless and cool.
Functions flawlessly and stays a lot cleaner than my buddies bushmaster.
I like the XM855 green tip...62 gr. steel core penatrator.

I need some advice on guns, everyone. I have never owned a gun, but that’s going to change tomorrow. And I’m going to learn to use it. This AR-15 is available from Walmart, what do you think? Would it be better to go to a gun show if you’re somebody who knows nothing, or better to go to a place like Walmart?

Sig Sauer M400 with Prismatic Scope

This Sig Sauer M400 removes the front sight tower and replaces it with an M1913 railed-front gas block. The M400 provides unparalleled accuracy with a 16-inch chrome-lined phosphate-coated barrel that provides maximum durability and corrosion resistance. A 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum-forged lower receiver adds to the durability and reliability. Optic included is the Sig Sauer CP2 fixed power optic with mounting base.

•Designed for use in law enforcement, military operations, the sporting field and competitive shooting
