Piedmont Mom Gets $2,500 Ticket After Son, 3, Urinates In Front Yard
Oklahomas Own News 9 ^ | 11-6-12 | Havonnah Johnson

PIEDMONT, Oklahoma -

A 3 year old gets his mom in trouble with the law when he gets a ticket from police. Now the little boy's mother will have to pay thousands of dollars for what the toddler did in their own front yard.

Dillan is being potty trained. His mother says he wasn't playing outside and wasn't near the facilities, so he unzipped.

News 9 was told before he could pee, a Piedmont police officer stopped him. It's a bathroom break that cost mom $2,500.

"Dillan pulled down his pants to pee outside. I guess and the cop pulled up and asked for my license and told me he was going to give me a ticket for public urination," the boy's mother, Ashley Warden, said.

I suppose if he'd done it on a Romney-Ryan sign, nothing would have been said.

Isn't this "art"?

Evidently not in PEED-mont OK!

A child of that age cannot be held legally responsible for this type of “crime” and if his mother did not have reason to know he would do it or encourage it, she cannot be held responsible either. This is a ridiculous story, and the cop needs to go back to police academy to learn the law.

It would be a different story if he peed on someone else’s lawn. Control your kids, mom! But even still. $2500 is a bit much.

I sent a few emails to the city officials in Piedmont. Told them they are about to become a national laughingstock.

Just got a response from one councilman:

Piedmont is very rural. I am shocked. The Mayor, Police Chief should fire that a hole cop. I am town that small could even be vendetta.

That’s why I pee in my backyard.

Cop was probably a perv anyway and just wanted to get close to see the little wee wee.

Does this cop carry 1 bullet he has to keep in his shirt pocket like Barny Fife?

This was probably a big bust for this cop. Last week he only got to issue a ticket for allowing a dog to urinate on the fire hydrant.

The fine is way too low. And, the toddler should have to register as a sexual offender. Law and Order, my Republican Friends. Law and Order!

Why is it always “little” boys who are always caught peeing every where in public and not little girls?

Ordinarily I am not that sympathetic to legal claims of psychological trauma. For adults. But this does make me wonder if this little guy will have a shock of fear every time he gets ready to release a full bladder for years to come. She should pay the $2,500 fine and sue for $500,000 after taking her son to a psychologist for about six months. See how the town fathers like that.

If so, the charge should be amended to “Exposure”

Of course, the cop (I usually call them Police - at least the ones I respect) would have had to be pretty close to a 3 yo to observe his ‘tallywacker’ dangling like a chad.

So, in essence he would have been better of ‘peeing’ rather than exposing....

Must be a VERY slow news day.....<: <:

Excellent point.

Poor little tyke has probably been reprimanded for peeing in his pants.

Now he has been arrested for trying to keep his pants dry.

At 3 years-old he now has the trauma of being accosted by a cop for trying to avoid an ‘accident’.
