Election Night 2000

Posted on 11/04/2012 12:21:25 PM PST by Allen In Texas Hill Country

I hope nobody minds if I repeat my election night of 2000. It was an experience, long term Freepers might remember my description.

Circumstances put me if studio #16 on the Warner Brothers lot that night. At one point I was passing time standing a few feet behind S. Spielberg. There he was (directing) with a cigar in his hand waving it in the air. "And Gore is going to wipe Bush in Penn, Ohio, Ind, Ill, Mich and the rest of 'em". After a while I took to walking outside the buildings. Every once in a while a cheer as a state it was announced for Gore or cursing if it was Bush.

While Mr. Spielberg is quite the gentleman he really is the consummate Hollywood liberal.

In 2000 I was a military absentee voter in Florida. A good chunk of Naval Aviation are Escambia county voters. Way more than 537.

Don’t know what to say. Maybe he has changed in 12 years. It was as I described. Or maybe it was an act.

I saw him on a show not long after the RNC and Eastwood’s empty chair gig. As I recall, he mentioned being in contact with John Voight(?) and others in CA. Sounded strong “R” to me.

Me too! I was in Studio 16 that night, too! I was the stunt unicorn for Bruce Willis. Yeah, it took a lot of makeup to cover the horn.
