I am friends with a lot of towboat rivermen. Sometimes a rough crowd, similar to the Deadliest Catch crews, but usually very fair, dependable and amazingly knowledgable. Many spend their off time reading so they are very literate.

Oh yes their politics often lean left but they also despise anything that cramps freedom.

You mind yours and I’ll mind mine is phrase they are very familiar with.

Almost everyone I’ve known, while we might have some political differences, defends The Constitution, the Founding Fathers, and our Freedom.
