Most geeks will know William Shatner as the original Captain Kirk from Star Trek. Shatner has also acted in other memorable roles including lawyer Denny Crane and Frank O’Hara on Psych. Shatner has launched a new application called Shatoetry that plays on Shatner’s known body of spoken word works.
The app is available for the iPhone and comes with a library of pre-recorded words allowing users to create unique “Shatisms” that play using Shatner’s voice. Shatner says that his life is unlike any other celebrity allowing users to make him say whatever they want him to say. The app supports multiple users or Shatoetists.
The multiple user functionality allows two users to collaborate online to make their own spoken word using Shatner’s voice. Advanced users can take advantage of the app to compose poetry and haiku. The app also allows users to create simple sentences and phrases, word juxtapositions, and more. Entire poems, phrases, or even individual words can be sent as messages or comments to friends.
The app will be updated with word packs for the holidays and special occasions as well as performance contributions from special guests. The app is available on the App Store right now for $2.99. Check out the video below to learn more about the app.

You know, it’s honestly a little hillarious how the cast of the original series of Star Trek are all going at each other, with some exceptions like Nimoy and Shatner, after the series was over. Anyways, it’s a funny contrast between acting and reality that I often like to take note of.
Let’s just cut the crap and call it Shat.
