A man should be judged by his character and love of country. I believe fundamental Bible-believing Christian can vote for such a leader if he is a man of character and loves this country and is conservative on the issues that matter....abortion, economy and fiscal conservatism, promilitary, etc......

Since I do not find where I addressed you, I must ask if you were appointed by RC to clarify his/her/other clarification. Since you are the one who did reply to the request to clarify his/her/other clarification, there are two logical assumptions that could be drawn (you can clarify which of the two is correct.) First assumption: RC pinged you and requested you jump into this discussion (possibly because he/she/other was feeling cornered) or, Second Assumption: you are RC under another nom-de-plume..

Now...

As to your proffered verbiage let's be logical...

You say: a vote not cast for obama does not give obama a vote. And furthermore, each and every American citizen owns his or her own vote, and has the right not to be bullied by the majority or almost majority to cast a vote against his (or her) conscience.

So far we are in agreement. Unfortunately, you take another step: There are some good third party candidates on the ballot in all 50 states. There is a place for people to to go, not a winning place, but a place to express differing views and differing choices, and that means something.

You are correct that your position is not a winning one. If you feel that God has called you to be a voice of protest at this time of our nations history and God has led you to voice that protest by adding a vote to a column that will ultimately have no affect on the outcome of this election, I cannot comment on what God has told (or not told) you to do. That is something that you will be called to account for.

You continue by noting by inference that you cannot in good conscience vote for either of the major candidates. For what it's worth, recognize that any one you do choose to vote for, whether D, R, I, Green, Libraltarian, RTL, Conservative, Commie, Protestant, Jewish, Catholic, Amish, black, white, red, yellow,(pick a label and insert here), or even - Mormon, is still a fallen human being and therefore not perfect, pure, and Holy. Only One ever walked the Earth that was like that (and for the record, the people didn't vote for Him either.)

Perhaps casting your carefully considered vote means something to God,

I'm sure it does. And I (and you) will be accountable for it. Now, if God told you to cast a protest vote, go for it. But, if God really expects us (that would be you and I) to carefully consider the choices between (or among) the various candidates and to cast our vote as a realization that He has given us stewardship of this great country and with it the obligation before Him to use that vote in a manner that would best actively preserve the country we have been given, then a protest vote (translate: wasted) will not fulfill that stewardship. I intend to cast my carefully considered vote, even though that vote is cast for a fallen human being, for the fallen human being who seems best able to fulfill that mandate of stewardship.

How about you?

So, those magazines disappeared, along with Joseph Smith's golden plates? And the body of Christ? You put the argument forward; it is customary to support it with the writings.

We do need to consider the possibility of a “mormon caliphate.”

Oh, please. That's nonsense and worse. The mormon and anti-mormon dialogue on this forum has convinced me that one organized religion is as silly as another.

We will know the truth, soon enough.
