VANITY You Are Transported To The Year 742 AD Europe And Allowed To Bring 3 Items From The Future

What would they be? A gun? Then you are only allowed to bring 2 bullets..see how that works?? Some basic ground rules..has to be a realistic items you can get you hands on today..no tanks etc. You are going with just the clothes on your back + the 3 items to survive an mingle with the folks of the day. Never coming back.

Saw this question on another site and wanted to see what you guys would come up with..I will post that link tomorrow after everyone has a chance to come up with their ideas..some people came up with good ideas (detailed history text of the time in Europe, antibiotics) and other people's ideas..not so much.

1. Computer with large database (engineering data, chemical formulae, medical data).

So when a 15 cent part goes kaputt in the computer 2 days after arriving in 724 a.d. you are screwed...

A time machine and a Colt 1911. The time machine to transport myself to 540 AD, the year when Mohammed was born, and the Colt 1911 to blow his effing brains out once I got there.

Win.

Lots of writers have taken a crack at that question over the years.

The Connecticut Yankee did pretty well (for a while).

In another short story I read the poor modern man transported back discovered he didn’t have the tools to make the tools he needed to make modern technology.

Books. Each one covering a multitude of items.

A book on gun and gunpowder making.
A book on health symptoms and natural cures including opiates for pain, alcohol production for sterilization.

A magnifying glass to make fire.

My goal would be to jump start every century so that by the the time when Columbus would have discovered America instead Native Americans have already developed steam engines and an intercontinental railway and are about to achieve the first manned flight in an aircraft.

Let the Euroweenies fall to their knees knowing that in America the Indian tribes are over 200 years or more advanced than they are.

Hopefully an isolated superior advanced nation built soley upon native Americans like the Cherokee and such become the dominant rulers of the free world. Bigger than Britain or Germany, more powerful but not warmongers instead.

Laptop, alternator, copy of Encarta.

I’d use tools of the day to enable the alternator to be used as a charger for the laptop.
