One should not argue against being a joke....leading off with Mike Huckabee. You made my case. And your case against Bruner is pathetic. He was the best guy in the race.

And methinks you doth protest too much. I hope Akin wins his next race. You have some sort of sickness to need folks to like and respect him. Sorry, I do not and will not. I saw him in his bunker. He is a joke. That’s what did it for me.

I like his votes too for the most part. They would be the same positions my teen age son would take. You are very easily impressed apparently.

Have you moved to Missouri? Akin was NOT my primary choice. I have to snicker every time it is said as if ‘gospel’ that Akin won with democrat votes... How did Romney win the nomination? Why all those open GOP primaries with helpful democrat votes... And Romney has said and continues to say far dumber things than Akin did. At least Akin acknowledge his foot in mouth, Romney is still championing Oromery care.

And you conveniently don't address the endorsements of folks like King, Bachmann, Jordan, etc. Akin was the most conservative person in the race based on any objective measure. His 97.24 lifetime ACU rating over 6 terms is proof enough.

Brunner (two n's) was the RINO choice. The amnesty supporting Chamber of Commerce along with the Missouri Soybean Association, John Deere, Augie Busch III, and the Missouri Pork Assn endorsed him. The GOPe loves candidates that can funnel lots of their own money into the race. He is certainly not the most conservative person in the race and we really don't know where he stands aside from his words.

Akin has a proven record of a conservative. He has served in elective office for 24 eyars. He also won the primary fair and square despite the canards that somehow McCaskill engineered his victory because she claimed he was "too conservative for Missouri."

I like his votes too for the most part. They would be the same positions my teen age son would take. You are very easily impressed apparently.

Hard to argue with that level of reasoning. If that is the case, we need more teenagers in Congress and the WH. Akin has been a consistent conservative even when it required resisting pressure from the Bush WH to vote on its agenda. Rove didn't like Akin then or now. Rove wants to be the kingmaker and decide who will be the nominee, the voters be damned. Well, Akin won the primary and is the nominee. The RNC's continued refusal to support him is outrageous and indefensible.

I don’t disagree that Democrat votes might have helped other Republicans from time to time, but that’s totally irrelevant. I don’t love all of those folks either, though I support them in the general most of the time also.

What do you Akin drones want? I will never love him. Get over yourself. He’s a weak candiate.

He may have been the “most” conservative according to the ACU, which is a useful tool. However, in the hands of shallow fools, it is misleading. How effective was he? I would rather someone vote 92 conservative if he was competent enough to get that 92 accomplished over someone who is 97 conservative but who is so imcompetent that he runs folks off.

People who constantly have to go back to voter surveys just show they don’t really understand the issues in any depth. THey live in a “check box” world. Reality does not work that way.

King is an impressive endorsement, but I do not know that he really endorsed Akin in the primary very much. If he did, it’s just because he knew him from the House probably. That Jim DeMint, who is great, has to hold his nose should tell you something.

I’m with DeMint. I’ll support him, hopes he beats McCaskill, but not happy about it.
