Man Dies in Police Raid on Wrong House
ABC News ^ | September 25, 2012 | Vicki Brown

A 61-year-old man was shot to death by police while his wife was handcuffed in another room during a drug raid on the wrong house.

Police admitted their mistake, saying faulty information from a drug informant contributed to the death of John Adams Wednesday night. They intended to raid the home next door.

The two officers, 25-year-old Kyle Shedran and 24-year-old Greg Day, were placed on administrative leave with pay.

We did the best surveillance we could do, and a mistake was made,” Lebanon Police Chief Billy Weeks said. “It’s a very severe mistake, a costly mistake. It makes us look at our own policies and procedures to make sure this never occurs again.” He said, however, the two policemen were not at fault.

More consequences for giving a bunch of undertrained, substance-abusing fatsos war toys and setting them loose on suburban America.

The killers get a paid vacation while the department and local government shrug. "Oops." Nobody is held accoutable, except of course the taxpayer if there's a settlement.

I'm wondering how many dead dogs and dead loved-ones it's going to take before we begin dealing with the problem.

The cops need to be charged, convicted, and sentenced to death.

This crap needs to stop.

I am not sure it is going to stop. It is a way to scare the populace. Leftist totalitiarians want a fearful populace.

The cops have long lost my benefit of a doubt.
I no longer feel sympathy when a cop is shot, because I’m waiting to hear the rest of the story.

And America can only blame itself for letting the “War on (Some) Drugs” get out of hand. End it.

With pay?

Some punishment for these two idiot donut-munchers.

This is why more and more people are starting to detest these morons known as cops.

No settlement can change the fact that a man is dead and a women is now a widow. Depressing story.

Me two.

Everyone in the ‘Burgh is still weepy over Larry, Curly, and Moe getting it in Stanton Heights two years ago.

I could care less about them. Good riddance. That’s three less idiots my taxes have to pay.

The cops need to be charged, convicted, and sentenced to death.

There actually was a case in Western Maryland in the late 70s where several cops were killed in a no-knock raid and that really did put a stop to the shit for a long time afterwards, but we need to end the war on drugs and we need to outlaw no-knock raids.

***** “This is why more and more people are starting to detest these morons known as cops.” *****

We have our own little pet names for them around here

“Revenue Enhancement Agents” or “Roach Patrol” because after dark they pull over anybody for anything and go fishing for fines. Locals stay home while the tourists foot the bill.

What is that called when proffessional negligence results in a homicide?

Manslaughter. If this was a typo or clerical error, a clerical person should be charged with manslaughter.

I doubt the police made too much of an effort to identify themselves. Probably two quick knocks and crash the door style of entry.

An innocent man lost his life because police “had the wrong house”.

And, what happens to the “drug informant”? Was he paid for this great tip? Is he still on the payroll? Will he be charged with anything?

I just glimpsed what’s wrong with this country by chance juxtposition. Having been away from the computer all morning, I refresh FR to see this story about a man murdered by the cops, while simultaneously listening to the opening minutes of Rush chortling like a pig about professional sports.

I saw that at the original ABC story which isn't dated and I can't find any other news showing when this happened. However the ABC account is showing up now in blogs and DU in addition to FR. Something doesn't seem right.

Government at all levels is dangerous and unaccountable...a deadly mix.
Thomas Jefferson wisely observed, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
