NEW YORK -- Major shakeups could be on the way for the Marlins.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Marlins plan to dismiss Larry Beinfest, president of baseball operations, and replace him with Dan Jennings, the team's vice president of player personnel.

Meanwhile..........the NFL threatened San Francisco 49er quarter-
back Alex Smith with a $15,000 fine for wearing a San Francisco
Giants ballcap at the press conference following the 49er -
Detroit Lions game on Sunday. In support of Smith Giants manager
Bruce Bochy sported a 49er ballcap during a pre-game TV inter-
view on Thursday. Later, during a radio interview on KNBR
Giants president Larry Baer mentioned that the Giants organiza-
tion discussed paying Smith’s fine had the NFL not merely
warned the quarterback.
So much for the NFL and community spirit.
The marlins are not worthy of anyones support
Get a great team,
Sell em off
Pander to the latins and forget about anything else.
Guess that Taxpayer Welfare Funded stadium in downtown Miami was not the problem after all
The Marlins are a bad franchise, they never had the support, and decided to move 20 miles away from their small fan base in Broward and Palm Beach County
Miami and Dade County is mainly Third World and poor....and its not the predominantly Cuban-Amer. area it once was. Most of the recent Third Worlders come from places that could care less about baseball
Ozzie is a joke. Just look at what novice manage Robin Ventura has accomplished with the White Sox this year.
Well the lie was always (I am a native South Floridian born and raised)..that baseball was/is a huge sport in Latin America and Cuba and that every game should have no less than 20,000 a night due to the heavy Hispanic population.
Wayne Huizenga killed the Marlins after the first fire sale. After the next World Series win against the Yankees and fire sale you just saw people become sick of the bullshit. Wayne did it to the Panthers after their epic Stanley Cup run in 96 too...getting rid of 4 great players.
It’s too bad really because if they had kept those teams together it is likely that the Marlins would have about 4 rings to their name instead of 2.
I still believe the Yankees should trade A-Rod to the Marlins as he owns a home down there and loves Miami and the people. I said he should be traded to them 2 years ago. Cashman has dreams though of A-Rod breaking the home run record in pinstripes though and it is doubtful that it will happen.
I would love for LaRussa to reconsider retirement and hit Miami for a few years. He is so good with young talent.
My top five options for the skipper job in Miami would be:
1. Tony LaRussa
2. Tony Gwynn
3. Dale Murphy
4. Ricky Henderson
5. Paul Molitor
