It usually means that some civil aircraft stumbled into protected airspace, either in DC or around Camp David. Not a big deal. I live near there, and it happens often enough that frankly I don’t even pay attention anymore. Don’t get excited (yet).

They're fighter-bombers headed for Montgomery County Elementary schools just like like the one I attended.

LOL! Me too! I went to Twinbrook. You?

Thanks Rebelbase, and must say was wrong again. Virginia yesterday, Maryland today. Mistake (by me) was I thought prior thread was in reference to Maryland yesterday. Thanks for clearing my head Rebelbase by bringing the thread forward.

Bells Mill. I Never learned a thing about the Founding Fathers but boy, when it came to Harriet Tubman I could lecture for hours!

The other memorable event was the time we were asked to find, key, identify, paste-to-posterboard and do a little verbal shenanigan on the leaves of no less than fifty different kinds of "flora." Now I was a pretty smart kid, even in fourth grade, but the project was assigned in December, in snowy, barren Washington, and due after the Christmas holiday.

The kids were absolutely distressed... The parents were beside themselves, digging through the snow for weeks looking for leaves...

I did manage to get all the leaves. I was the only one who did.

My mom owned a flower shop on P and 21st.

And she was PISSED.

So you should of seen the eyes of the kids when I pulled out these huge, exotic flowering rainforest species, pointed out the window, and told the class, (as carefully instructed,) "Aww, yeah, there's a whole bunch of these down by Cabin John Creek..."

Harrier pilot. The Marines never forget their own and still hold on to tradition. Not saying anything bad about the other branches just giving a good example to model after.

I’m getting to be an old man. My admiration for the Corps only grows. They remain a beacon of light that represents all that is American that is good.

The opposite of fear is not courage, it is love.

You know for a fact that the USAF and Navy don’t do this?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_man_formation

Says at Wiki that the US Army brought the custom to America. Looks like the USAF added the “pull up” portion to the honor. Doesn’t mention the USMC.

That is not the point. All branches with aircraft do the missing man formation.

Geesh, aren’t we a little hypersensitive?

Dude, if that happens you know I'm looting Crisfield's. Look for the guy with the tub full of softie sandwiches and a can of Old Bay. The ONLY reason, ever, to be on Georgia Avenue.

No. You just sounded like you needed a little correcting.
A little research won’t kill you.
