Woman finds ex-boyfriend living in her attic
Yahoo ^ | 11 Sep 2012 | Ron Recinto

A Rock Hill, N.C., woman knew something was in her attic when she heard a thump and then saw some nails start popping out from her bedroom ceiling one night. Tracy, a mother of five, thought it might be an animal. She sent her older sons and nephew to check it out, she told WCNC-TV in Charlotte.

She told the Charlotte Observer she thought "there was some poltergeist stuff going on."

And what they found was surprising. It wasn't an animal. It was the woman's ex-boyfriend.

He came down from the attic without any explanation and left with a smile before police could arrive, the Observer reports.

The man had been living in the attic for about two weeks, WCNC reports, noting that the ex-boyfriend was recently released from jail...

A Rock Hill NC is news to me too. I lived and went to school in Rock Hill SC for a couple years a long time back.

It's kind of refreshing anymore to read about someone coming out of somewhere besides the closet.

I’ll have to do some digging, but there was a story of some guy who lived in a hidden room in someone’s house, coming out when they would leave for the day to eat, shower and use the restroom. I read it here a few years ago...

Lesson to be learned for all here.

Whenever you end a relationship like this; always change the locks.

No matter how much you trust them, even if they return your key; change the locks.

This is what's gonna happen if Romney wins; Obama and his family of grifters will be living in the WH attic.

I always wonder why women get involved with such trash. It seems to happen frequently, though.

Judgment appears to be a foreign element to these women.

Just Barack and Michelle. Grandma Robinson and the girls will be on their own. Their welfare is society's responsibility.

Two possible theories:

1. She didn’t realize he was a nut/crimnal until he had already started his wierd behhavior.

2. [More likely] she saw the red flags and ignored them because she wanted to help him. Some women are just attracted to bums because they want to take care of them.

Don't they tend to get kinda moldy?

The attic has the advantage of generally being drier. Then again, come summer, it gets pretty warm up there.

Maybe shuffle them around based on season?

Yep, that'd work. Cordwood, kinda like.

Sounds like you have more ex-GFs than I do. I don't think I could fill even one pallet.

Man, I'm gonna have nightmares tonight..... :)

Thank you for your comments on my query yesterday.

I suppose it’s my male orientation but I simply cannot understand that desire to want to help or otherwise take care of a weirdo. There are so many normal men out there, why waste your time trying to reform a bum?

Your first point is understandable, though. I suppose that some men are able to hide their aggressive/criminal side. If I were a woman, though, and I was taking up a new relationship and it looked serious I would pay a private detective to look into the past of the proposed beau. One’s very life could depend on finding out exactly what one is dealing with.

I find it difficult to understand myself. Needy guys and “bad boys” (i.e. losers) repel me. But a dear friend of mine had several needy boyfriends and a husband. What finally changed her attitude was having a child. The baby was helpless and really needed her; her husband just wanted to be babied. She chose to take care of the child, and her husband, to his credit, finally got his act together. I had told her for years that he was quite capable of taking care of himself but just didn’t want to . . . until she made him.

As for myself, I do as you suggest. I met a fellow a couple of years ago, and we really hit it off. Then I did a public record search and found that he was married (he didn’t tell me that) and had a whole host of legal and bill-paying issues. I broke off contact with him.
