"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Hi, SteelYourFaith!

Her voice is just the same, a tad older, and she hates her given name—Eunice. Bless her heart!

Hi, Doc!

We got 12 to 15 inches of rain at our house, depending on how accurate the rain gauge was with the rain falling horizontally in the spooky high winds! We live just two blocks off the beach (and not near a river) at around 18 feet or so above sea level, so the only flooding is standing water in low areas in our yards and the area. The storm surge was nothing to speak of on our section of the beach. In other areas of the MS Coast, the storm surge did cross the beach highway.

How are you and your husband doing? Are you almost all healed up now?

Hi Ladies, just back from a crab feast in DC. Damn suv with New York plates is doing 60mph in the left lane on 95, I flash and he won't move over, and when I pass him he flips me off. Geesh. Get back to NY and stay there.

How's your weekend? I moved 3+ tons of topsoil this weekend for the yard- in 40lb bags in a tiny saturn. But the yard is looking better, hope heavy rains don't screw it up.

Glad all is well with you Gina.

Idiots on the road. I’m certain most of them are Obama supporters—he gets the vast majority of the moron vote, after all.

We can completely relate to how much dirt you moved, Vision. I know exactly how tired you are after doing it!

We’re worn out, too. The backlog of storm cleanup jobs is overwhelming, and we’re sun-kissed and exhausted from a few days of it, with still many more days to go.

Short trip to Niagara Falls August 22-24. While there watched CNN's Wolf Blitzed (as El Rushbo dubbed him) gleefully report that Isaac was tracking for a direct collision with Tampa (my residence) coinciding with the RNC Convention. Attended the Grand Old Picture Show peripheral Convention event.
