Now they have strobes on top too, anyway they turn them on way too early, I'm not talking about a block or two, I mean they turn the corner and put them on, a red light or two later they finally pick up the kids. What I think is they are trolling for the kids every block because it seems they pick them up different places every day

Problem is people see the yellow lights think the bus is stopping soon and slow down and leave the traffic behind them in the intersection with the light changed, so you end running a red and you have traffic coming against you.

I dread seeing these buses I don't want to run a stop so I slow down too and only contribute to the problem. Aren't they supposed to have set stops that are the same everyday?

Where I was driving, legally the stop had to be in the same place every day, and we were forbidden to pick up or drop off a kid anywhere but a designated stop. I once had to drive the “bad” route, that went into the low-income apartments where kids were lazy and arrogant (apples that hadn’t fallen far from the tree). Oftentimes the kids wouldn’t even come out of the house until the bus was about to leave, even though since it was the first stop, I had to wait something like 10 minutes there before I could leave. At any rate, one morning, after my usual 10-minute wait, I start pulling away, and am a good 50 yards or more beyond the stop, when a kid saunters out of her house, and walks in front of my bus to stop me so she could get on. Of course, as soon as she walked around to the side of the bus, I pulled away. The principle had to come onto the bus and read the kids the riot act because of the things they were saying. Although our bus company only had two or three cameras to move between buses to catch problems, that particular run always had a camera on it.

According to Texas law, drivers must come to a complete stop when they see a school bus with its red lights flashing.

That's a false statement of the law, but what can you expect from the media.

I see you make a habit of displaying your ignorance. What is 'false' about the statement?

A stalker, I see. And one who is willing to dig a bit.

Although I know it's not an honest question, I'll answer it anyway.

1. Just seeing a school bus with its lights flashing doesn't trigger the law. You have to be 'approaching' the school bus. So if you are on a cross street a block away, keep driving.

2. Even if you are approaching, if you are on a divided highway with a barrier or a median (but not a solid left turn lane) and you are traveling in the other direction, you don't have to stop.

Why don't you twitter for the rest.

It's like the liars that put up the billboards, "Drink, Drive, Go to Jail". They might hope that that would become the law, but that isn't what the law says.

Now go brag about yourself on twitter. Because if you don't, who will?

Your stupidity knows no bounds; why am I not surprised? You proved that in the other thread.

The law requires a driver stop if bus lights are flashing. Your extreme description of being a block away is the only way you could find an out for your moronic statement. So be it.

And I don't stalk anyone. I was interested to see if you have made other moronic statements in this forum and you did not disappoint. In my 11+ years at FR I have found you be the most moronic person I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Congratulations...you have proven that you really are that dumb.

Have a nice day, Stu

Come on now, don’t add lying to your sins.

“Have a nice day”? I don’t believe that you mean that.
