Businesswoman Andrea Taber obviously needs to spend some time in one of Comrade Obama’s re-education camps. A few years in the rice paddy under the guidance of Comrade Elizabeth Warren would inspire her to proper thinking more in line with the teachings of the state. When young mother’s get WIC cards they are limited in their food selections. There are signs in the stores designating which items are allowed. I think the same should apply to EBT cards,
I would love to see a Governor that would tell the Fed to stuff it and end the practice of withholding taxes for the Fed.
If every citizen had to file quarterly like small businesses do, the hue and cry would be heard all the way to Washington D.C.
Unfortunately, the current crop of crooks likes having the torrent of tax dollars to purchase votes - largely from people undeserving of the vote.
“.. I don’t think we need to go so far as to monitor their diets”.
I do the bulk of our family’s grocery shopping. I clip coupons, buy “off” brand names, and buy only what is one sale. I can’t tell you how many times that the person in front of me has purchased lobster, shrimp, prime steaks, junk food and only brand names (usually more expensive). Then they pull out their EBT card. The program was sold as a way to supplement poor families who were unable to feed themselves with nutritious food. It tugged at America’s heartstrings because people didn’t want children or other people starving. The EBT user can purchase the ingredients to make their own pie. Flour, salt, vegetable shortening, fruit or nuts... IMHO, it should be used for food and not “packaged or pre-made food”. That is a convenience item (sort of like the slurpees and hot dogs that I saw paid for with an EBT card last week).
Good, solid, wholesome food with no frills and no cash.
Oh, some people sold the five pound block of cheese but that was pretty much the extent of the abuse.
They need to buy flour, lard, salt -- baking supplies and fruit (canned or fresh) and learn how to make their own desserts. Perhaps they will learn a skill or trade -- experience the wonderful pride and satisfaction that comes from producing something with their own hands that is good and that their family enjoys.
If you’re wanting to inspire pride and satisfaction, you’d do better cutting them off rather than babysitting them.

I didn’t say anything about babysitting anyone doc.
Unfortunately for them (and us) progressives have intentionally crippled vast pockets of people, robbed them of their God given abilities by nurturing dependence, depression and dysfunction, and they did it to serve their own ends.
"Come on, everybody else is doing it!"
Oh, very wise business owner...
If the heat in your MA kitchen gets too hot, please move to Hampton Roads, VA...
You’re our kind of baker!
And, if I may add, printing money at an absolutely unsustainable rate...
I’m no Econ major but even I know that the more you have of something, the less valuable it is.
She was on WRKO this morning and after listening to the callers I think this lady’s business is about to experience a boom. The show is actually going to broadcast from her shop and one caller offered to buy lots of pies and deliver them to Fisher House.
Being on welfare should be uncomfortable.
You might consider that, if we were more strict about what they could purchase with those cards, the people who didn’t really need the assistance would be a lot less likely to abuse to the system.
Who said anything about beer and cigarettes, or face lifts and boob jobs? We’re talking about pies.
The question is whether we should bother monitoring the dinner menu of welfare queens. When people are using them on booze, cigarettes, drugs, or to pay their hooker ... there are certainly bigger problems than too much dessert.
This is more trouble than its worth. We have the power to do this ... but sometimes we’re all better off if the government doesn’t exercise every power they have. Use the money on drug testing instead.

Wow, this in the state who has Warren even in the polls with Brown?
There may be a God!
