Our long national nightmare is over as Dwight Howard has finally been traded. According to ESPN.com, the Los Angeles Lakers have acquired the All-Star center from the Orlando Magic in a complicated four-team deal that also involved the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers. Howard may be the biggest, but he is not the only big name switching teams.
In addition to Howard moving to the L.A., the Nuggets will receive Andre Iguodala and the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum, both of whom were 2012 All-Stars.
The 76ers will also receive 11-year veteran Jason Richardson, and the Magic will receive three players (Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic) as well as three first-round picks, one from each of the other teams in the deal.
But of course, the only name that really matters is Howard, who has long wanted out of Orlando and finally gets his wish.

The Lakers now have — Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash (2 time MVP and one of the best point guards in the league ), Pau Gasol and now Dwight Howard.
TWO CENTERS?
One of them’s gotta go.
Gasol won’t play center, he’ll play power forward.
If you’re referring to Gasol, he doesn’t play the 5 position, he’s a forward....sometimes a P-Forward!
Obviously this benefits their team, but dont forget Nash and Kobe are a year older.
One of these days theyre going to lose a step since quickness is so much part of their game, and when they do it will go quickly. Age tends to sneak up on you, but when it does, it hits you like a ton of bricksm, and the legs are the first to go.
And trades like this is why I don’t like the NBA. BS trades where the top teams always make out.
With Howard rebounding, Nash and Kobe will get out on the fast break. Showtime redux?
That $350 million dollars given to the DeVos family to build the new Amway Center has been nothing more than a Welfare Check
The “new arena” was supposed to keep people like Howard in Orlando, and attract new free agents. It has done neither
A lot of locals bad-mouth Howard....yes he acted like a putz in recent times...but the Magic did nothing to secure him before the lockout.
Orlando not a smart sports town....they crapped on Shaq for years even though he left mainly because the Magic gave him such a low offer early in re-negotiations. And, the local media in town will never say anything negative about the Magic....probably the only time a very liberal media will not whine about a major GOP contributor (DeVos family)
Good luck Dwight, and just send the O’Brien trophy to LA.
