Amazing how a moment in time, frequently a juxtaposition, is so powerful.

These already are moving.. I suspect I need a hanky since I would run through a Kleenex box.

Thank you for posting this.

It surprised me how long it took before someone posted Kevin Carter’s photograph.

How the hell come THIS photo isn't in the first 10.. I don't see it in the first 100. Not sure it's even posted. What a disgrace.

Lighten up..the pics are from around the world...and they are not supposed to be the most famous pics but MOVING pics.

Not everything revolves around the USA...especially when many of these are from people who took them in their home countries...it means something to them.

"One of my all time favorites. Pure Balls."

That's the zoom shot. The true size of that man's balls only becomes apparent when one looks at the deep shot:

So, explain how the arrest of Ray Lewis at an OWS rally in Philadelphia in 2011 is more noteworthy. That was the sixth photo.

Amazing how a moment in time, frequently a juxtaposition, is so powerful.

Also sometimes powerfully misleading.

One of the very most famous photos of the Vietnam War is of the S. Vietnamese police chief executing a captive with his pistol. The comment below shows it is an example of wartime atrocities against possibly innocent people.

Little known fact:

The police chief was a good friend of the photographer. The guy getting killed had been caught in the act of murdering policemen's families during a raid. There was no question of his guilt. Yet the image no doubt played a significant role in turning world opinion against S. Vietnam.

For the rest of his life the photographer regretted taking and selling that photo.

Would post the photo if I knew how.

As another example, there are many photos of the Nazis camps on the page, but none of the gulag or laogai. Those have been successfully kept out of the media.

I cannot link to the one that I recall.. it was from the era of the Bolshevik revolution and showed what these "social justice" folks did to enemies.

(Though the image was of such poor resolution I still hope that it was fake.)

The guy had been stripped naked and was hanging from a tree limb by one leg (rope attached at the foot) and a long wooden shaft had been inserted deep into him.. he had to be dead by that time.

These revolutionary heroes and mentors of the 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radicals (psycho spoiled brats) were the vanguard of the people's paradise the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) want.

Some very moving pics, thanks for posting.

The ones with children really get me. The brave little boys and the suffering children. ouch.

And the men having lunch on the skyscraper beam. That always invokes panic in me.

Never really paid much attention to the one of LBJ being sworn in with Jackie at his side. I didn’t know she was still covered in her husband’s blood when it was taken.
