They should just turn it around so it’s looking the other way.

Yeah, Baby! I'll drop by a little later
to make sure you're all snuggled in!"

If they don’t melt it down, then they should replace the plaque that says “Coach, Educator, Humanitarian,” with one that says “Use this finger to dial 911 if you suspect child sexual abuse.”

What a bunch of jerks!! Protecting a statue of an evil enabler of a pedophile!! Schmucks all!!
To: Morgana
Sounds like these people would gladly drink their kool-aid had the Reverend Joe asked them to...perhaps State College can be renamed, "Joestown."

Hopefully a couple dozen decent students will show up and smash it to pieces. How football is more important than protecting children is beyond comprehension to me.

Penn State...Happy Valley...those stupid “PSU is the best school in the world” smiles. PSU is a cult.
I say that despite the fact I was offered a full scholarship there in the late 60’s.
A very good friend of mine is a PSU grad in journalism. Truth be told she’s not that good.
She bleeds blue and white. Her Christmas decorations are blue and white. She sends money to PSU even though she doesn’t really earn all that much. PSU comes first. It is a cult.

I appreciate the accomplishments of Paterno and the Penn State football program.
But at this juncture it is in bad form to allow a statue of this man who did nothing to deal with a predator in his midst.
Even if he didn’t turn him in, he certainly should have turned him out.

The statue’s getting more campus protection than any given minor boy who’s been inside a locker room

Let it stand, as a symbol of the very worst in mankind. Anyone, who is so delusional about the tiny power and prestige they hold, who would allow the destruction of so many children, deserves the shunning of all mankind. *(*(&%^^!
To: Colofornian
Well put. Personally I hope a few of the victims show up and find out just how dedicated these idiots are.

You all may all think this strange, but I never heard of Joe Paterno before this scandal hit the news.
Therefore, I find it very odd anyone would want to defend his statue.

Those PSU cultists weren't fast enough. Seems Pedobear had his photo taken with the Paterno statue.
