Weekly Sci-Fi Thread (07/15/12)
Sunday:
9/8 -- Falling Skies -- TNT

Monday:
9/8 -- Eureka -- SyFy (Final Episode)

Wednesday:
10/9 -- Futurama -- Comedy Central

TOPICS: TV/Movies
KEYWORDS: scifi
Well the series finale of Eureka is finally upon us and I have to say this is the worst last season ever.. It looks like they where trying to be like SG1 and Battlestar all at once..

As for Falling Skies, I know the professor is smart, but didn't he know about the 5th Column though out history? Also why have lights on the hospital?? You think the overlords would see it and wiped out the 2nd Mass.. Just get the water running again at least.

Is Lourdes on Falling Skies still Catholic?

Prof Tom Mason no longer references the Founding Fathers nor Civil War Battles?

Falling Skies got the nod for a 3rd season. Same with MTV’s Teen Wolf.

I watched SyFy’s True Bloodthirst last night. It was okay — was good to see Andrew Lee Potts, as we watched him as Connor ‘growing up’ on Primeval. It was interesting to hear him speak with an ‘American’ accent.

On Sat, July 28, Syfy is showing their made-for-SyFy movie, The Philadelphia Experiment. It will be interesting to see how it compares with the original classic.

Falling Skies seems to have lost their writing crew lately.

Does "Perception" make the cut for science fiction/fantasy?

I watched the first episode of Perception and plan to watch again.

After the dig at W in the middle of the show they put one in on Bubba Clinton at the end.

But I don’t think it qualifies as science fiction.

Crime drama much closer to Numbers than X-Files

Alphas is coming back soon.
Watched the comic-con coverage on Spike TV. Not bad. And there was a show on Nat Geo channel about Comic Store Heroes, a pilot for a possible series, which was interesting and NY Comic Con related, but the really weird part was when they went to a private collector to find one particular comic (and comics to sell at NYC-CC) -- and I knew the guy! He's been a regular at Lunacon for about as long as I have. The surprising part is that he had a comic collection valued in the frickin' millions. Oh, he'll be popular next March.

Yup. I gave up on it when they started talking about their magic dust that would solve the globull warming crisis. LOL!!! I laughed, turned it off, and will never watch this season again, nor will I finish it.

yeah, ground breaking television from 2006 that has been copied over and over again.

Dr Daniel Pierce is nothing like Shawn Spencer.

He is somewhere between Dr Gregory House and Adrian Monk.

Granted, at best it can be amusing, and when it's not at its best, just plain stupid. Roday not making up his mind to be either Groucho Marx or Soupy Sales doesn't help.

However, Perception did steal Rachael Leigh Cook and give her a role other than that of a nondescript TV dinner tray that they pulled out now and then. Not that I'm a big fan, but her brief "ninja" scene in "Scorched" was memorable.

I guess it is a matter of taste. Besides, ripping off people from THAT long ago is ok with me. I am an older guy (42), and I don't know anything about those guys. Roday is doing a fine job. I love that style of comedy. The Shawn/Gus chemistry is awesome.
