(Vanity)It's all about perspective

It is hot. I mean, so hot that expletives aren't good enough to cover it. And my air conditioner for my tiny apartment isn't cutting it. It has been between 85 and 90 degrees in here the last few days, which I suppose is marginally better than the 98 degrees outside. I've been griping and whining and moaning to everyone I know about it. Even my poor cat just lays around panting. Yes, that's how hot it is.

But I just found out that some friends of mine on the N.E. side of Colorado Springs are dealing with a bunch of bears (yes, bears) who think that the neighborhood trash cans are their personal buffet. The bears were flushed out of the mountains and surrounding areas by the fires. The small town of Last Chance, Colo., went up in flames and burnt to the town entirely. My own dad passed through Last Chance before the fire, and then on his way home, afterward. He said it left him aghast.

I keep saying it's hotter than hell here in IL, but when Colorado is so hot and consumed in flames, maybe I want to be more careful about using the word 'hell.'

All about perspective, isn't it.

Well yes, perspective. There are something like 2,000,000 without power in the mid-Atlantic, I think, from the weekend storms.

” There are something like 2,000,000 without power in the mid-Atlantic, I think, from the weekend storms.”

I hope that everyone gets the power back....EXCEPT...for the Obamaholes in DC.

May they boil, burn, rot, and disappear into the putrid, septic muck of that location.

makes me feel a little sheepish, to be honest. everyone complains so much everyday...
but it seems those who complain the most have little license to complain.

Why hasn’t Obama sent them solar generators and emergency workers driving Chevy Volts?
Must be George Bush is stopping him???

Clinton gave many people air conditioners and then demanded they use less electricity.

You know, from what I’ve read some Colorado lawmakers are blaming their lack of enough tankers for forest fires on Obama. Something along the lines of his policies making them utilize their monies elsewhere.

I don’t remember where I saw that so don’t quote me on that, but there you have it...

As for Bush, well, Katrina was his fault, so maybe this is too! /sarc

Yes, but they were’nt SOLAR air conditioners.

Obama needs to give them Air conditioners which are powered by algae bio fuels.

The ASSociated Press described the east coast as what global warming looks like. A heat wave is global warming to the socialist democrats. Try looking at the west coast moron. It’s been way below normal out here.

You know what, it is okay. Sometimes we all feel a bit beaten down, and there is nothing like being too hot to exacerbate the feeling.

It's 78F right now where I am. Last night it was 53F.

I see the heatwave figures of 'RealFeel' temps of 115 out East past the Rockies and feel bad for all those people. Gotta be that Global Warming apocalypse that Al Gore swore was true.

Couple more months here and I'll be shoveling the first snowfall off the driveway, I bet.

All about perspective, isn't it.

Around here, we figure folks who whine about the heat when it ain't even triple digits are yankees. We cut them folk up in Colorado some slack, as fire ain't no fun for anyone. Last year I rode my harley from Dallas to Houston on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. It was like riding through an oven for 6 hours.  I left after midnight when I came back home, because I figured 95 degrees by moonlight was a more pleasant ride than 105+ in the sun.

Last summer Dallas had over 90 straight days of 100 degree temps. It was between 105-109 for 20 days in a row.

Get over it and get a real AC, pay your electric bill, and stay inside. It’s not that difficult to understand.

We are sweltering to your north too, here in southern WI.
No rain since Memorial Day.
Crops are dying in the fields.
100 yesterday, 100 today.
The weather symbol on the 5 day forecast is a thermometer that is on fire.

My aunt was in the evacuation zone in Co.Springs. She is back home now and safe.

I know Last Chance, CO too, as I pass through it on my way to CO when I visit The Springs.

Everyone, pray for rain in southern WI. We are desperate for it.

Continued prayers for those in Colorado and the rest of the west.

Lord Bless Us With Gentle Soaking Rains and Cooler Temperatures. Amen.
