My son, who is a big strong hockey player, came down with encephalitis. He was home for 3 weeks and I was so worried about him, I became his slave. He wanted to watch all the episodes of 24. We paid, I think $10 a month at Blockbuster, for all the movies we wanted to watch. We watched 5 years worth in about a week.

Geez, I struggle to find one movie I’d like to watch on Netflix. Crappy selection. I keep the membership for the TV shows they have.

YouTube is free, and you could, if you wanted, watch 13 years of Bonanza episodes for nothing. I don’t see anything special about this.

Netflix plus Verizon unlimited data plan. Sweet. I can watch all the Phineas and Ferb I want. Last nite I watched The Edge, with Alec Baldwin, a movie that I always wanted to see. It was great, beautiful Alaska scenery.

YouTube has a surprising amount of full modern movies. The selection there is amazing.

Was that the one where he stops his doctor friend from saving the life of a community activist? I seem to recall he had a friend from "out of town" with him...

I don’t know about the Mission Impossible episode, but I think you’re thinking of a Star Trek one. They go back in time to early 1930s America and somehow they realize that if this Peace Activist woman lives (isn’t it Joan Collins in the role?) Hitler will win.

Something like that.

Right now hubby and I are listening to the new Stephen King book “11/22/63” about a man who goes back in time with the secret mission of preventing Oswald from killing JFK.

It is interesting to think about those things. In the book the instigator of this mission avers that if JFK doesn’t die, then maybe RFK doesn’t die and MLK doesn’t die and Vietnam doesn’t escalate, so all those people don’t die.

Who knows, it’s one thing to think that, and that would have been good for those people and their families, of course, but it makes you wonder if maybe, somehow, things wouldn’t be worse if JFK lived. That’s what the Star Trek episode gets at.

Thanks. I was kidding with you. The Star Trek episode is called “City on the Edge of Forever.” I didn’t know Mission: Impossible had done that with Shatner too...

Sliders. It’s this month’s favorite here in our house. (not a movie)

We watched Heroes because I never saw it, since it went up against 24 and MNF. Also watched the whole run if the Tudors. Can anybody recommend another show to get into?
