I don’t like it when people get overly sensitive about the use of words. “Retard” isn’t the best choice of a word, but I think it’s a minor violation of manners.

I use the word all the time; usually in reference to Democrats and their politicians. I would never use the word with reference to a child, though.

You know, I always find it ironic how when people like her demand so much tolerance, they bite out so much at people who are so very different. The other problem with what she says is that if you adopt at infancy, there’s loads of developmental issues like autism that don’t show up until the baby matures since then, so seriously, adopting a baby that isn’t what she considers “retarded” isn’t a guarantee.
