California may ban gay teen 'conversion' therapy

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—A first-of-its-kind ban on a controversial form of psychotherapy aimed at making gay people straight is speeding through the California statehouse.

Supporters say the legislation, which passed its final Senate committee Tuesday, is necessary because such treatments are ineffective and harmful.

This faulty legislation begins with the 1973 decision by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to delist homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM).

Removal followed a two year campaign Newsweek described as ongoing disruptive, chaotic attacks on psychiatrists and physiologists. Yet throughout these disruptive attacks, no academic papers were presented at conferences refuting any research previously done. Eventually attacks forced sufficient abstentions and apprehensive responses for a third of APA’s 17,000 plus membership to vote removal. The under-voting and public attacks support the understanding that the DSM is now as likely to accumulate political manifestos and marketing brochures as any attempt at scientific exposition.

Next activists established a committee targeting leading researchers such as Dr. David Reuben, and Masters and Johnson to ensure perpetual sanctity for APA actions. No research papers would again arise to confirm initial therapy success rates of 30% to 60 %, substantiating that 7 of 10 homosexuals could eventually walk away from the lifestyle forever.

This cabal set peer review standards mandating pre-ordained theses, approved research designs, suitable human data points, and enchanting statistical enhancements. Persistent activism over 37 years enabled ubiquitous infiltration of academia resulting in social alchemy. Psychology and Psychiatry chose to abandon scientific rigor in exchange for popular societal and political acclaim.

Anyone want to bet the California law will over-reach? Banning conversion therapy...then banning conversions at all? Like Islam....will anyone who tries to convert a homosexual be guilty of a crime? Talk to the wrong person about changing their life or about the bible and it’s a “hate crime”? Just guessing about what California would do with such a law...or what the 9th Circuit(Circus) might uphold.

It would truly upset the Californians if someone set up some confidential counseling centers just across the border in Arizona.

Even if done as a hoax, they could put out press releases about dozens of homosexuals who had left California where they were sexually abused by other homosexuals, and regained their heterosexuality, after counseling.

It would drive the Californians nuts. They would send protesters, try to infiltrate, scream and shout and threaten to sue.

The sheer arrogance of these jackasses in the state capitol is so astounding that any doubt I had that the world has gone completely bat-sh*t crazy is now removed. It is one thing for these hopeless morons to push through their left-wing political agenda, but these idiots fancy themselves fully qualified to judge matters of psychology and psychiatry. To hell with people who actually go to school and work in this particular field - all one has to do is sucker enough welfare-sucking illiterates into voting him into office and instantly the office-holder is a fully-qualified genius in every industry and every discipline.

Every one of these idiots in the Assembly should be tarred and feathered, perhaps a few worse things, French-style.

Suppose California decided to ban AA, a program which has helped tens of thousands of alcoholics change their behavior and live longer more productive lives? Instead, they would substitute a program which makes alcoholics feel good about themselves and accept themselves as they are.

It would make about as much sense as this.

I have stressed that point so many times. But to no avail. People are stupid. I haven’t done alcoholics, but I have mentioned Pedophiles, Anger management, Incest, etc.

Let me see if I got it right. "Conversion" therapies for teens are ineffective and harmful. Hormonal treatment and surgery are just fine.

The publik skools spend a lot of time and taxpayer dollars turning these kids into homosexuals. I can understand why a bunch of commie buffoons in the Cauliphonya “legislature” don’t want the kids being deprogrammed.

Funny how they can debate and pass this crap while the state sinks into a financial tar pit.

With any luck, the year of the queer (2012) will backfire on all legislators, local, state and federal.
