(CNN) -- A graphic video played at a hearing Monday to determine whether two California police officers should stand trial in the beating death of a homeless man showed them kicking and punching the mentally ill man as he lay on the ground -- screaming in pain and begging for help.
The victim, Kelly Thomas, died five days after the beating on July 5.
Manuel Ramos, a 10-year veteran of the Fullerton, California, police department, is charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, while Cpl. Jay Patrick Cicinelli faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and felony use of excessive force in the same case.
Both have pleaded not guilty.

Nice to know that cops can beat someone just because a local business wants them to.
And cops wonder why they are hated and distrusted. I treat cops like I would a wounded, wild animals. Don’t look at it’s face. Keep your head down and avoid at all cost.
Personally, I’m wondering if the fix is in, with the cops walking away with a slap on the wrist in return for not telling where their orders came from.

This was big news here in OC. There should be more charges for the coverup, and not just the FPD.

I used to like cops but no longer.
They have an “us vs them” mentality with the advantage of a badge.
They must re-evaluate their objectives because too many innocents are being killed under the color of the law.
You will get no argument from me. This crap happens too often for it to be a random occurance. Either these guys went overboard on their own (which in my world would result in serious jail time), or they were told to crack some heads open (which should result in charges of ordering a hit on a unarmed man). Either way, something is fishy here.
I don’t consider the death of a police officer to be a tragedy. You treat the public like this too many times and people are scared of you. It’s either you or me.

It didn't seem too bad with the video/audio of a young man screaming for his life, screaming he could not breath, begging for mercy, screaming for his Dad to help, who was not even present?

Here's a couple of the murderers, other cops were clearly involved.
Was the young man a mass murderer? International terrorist? Bank robber, hostage taker? Killer, robber, rapist?
No he wasn't.
Two fat kids who got bullied in school all grown up. They will enjoy prison food.
This wasn’t simply a beating, this was clearly murder with intent.
That shows prior intent, a.k.a - premeditation.

What this did was expose even more government corruption, and out of control local government law enforcement, who behaved like gangsters.
Thanks to the fact it was caught on tape, there were witnesses and there is a brutally beaten dead body.

Not sure where your at, but on the west coast, there is a lot of outrage.
