Generation XXX: 13-year-old boy sexually abuses 5-year-old sister thanks to porn, says therapist
Life News ^ | 4/30/2012 | Kathleen Gilbert

Posted on 04/30/2012 11:18:37 AM PDT by Morgana

April 27, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - When it comes to startling statistics, the hidden world of pornography consumption has them in spades.

For example, every second, $3,075.64 is being spent on porn, while 28,258 Internet users are viewing it. As of 2006 Big Porn was more lucrative than Google, Apple, Amazon, Ebay, Yahoo!, and Netflix combined.

But perhaps the most startling of all is the age demographic: the largest group of Internet pornography consumers is between 17 and 12 years old.

Therapists now say we’re only beginning to scratch the surface of the havoc wreaked on this “Generation XXX” as it freely surfs the Internet - where 30 percent of all traffic is dedicated to porn. They describe grade-schoolers dropping out of school to spend the day at the computer feeding their porn addiction, while their real-life budding sexuality, trained on hardcore porn, is warped away from real relationships and towards an ever-growing appetite of voyeurism and violence.

Child therapist John Woods described in a Daily Mail article on Thursday how “Jamie,” 13, found himself addicted to hardcore pornography online before he had even kissed a girl in real life.

“At first I found it a bit scary and a bit yucky ... I didn’t know it was possible for people to do those sort of things — and there were lots of nasty close-ups. But it gave me funny feelings and the pictures started to stick in my head,” the boy said, according to Woods.

“The websites led me to other websites and soon I was looking at even weirder stuff I could never have imagined — animals, children, stabbing and strangling. I stopped leaving my room and seeing my friends because when I was away from the pornography, I was dying to get back to see what else I could find.”

Woods described tales from other teens who found themselves longing for violent hardcore pornography scenarios when meeting with rejection from real-life women.

“I feel like stabbing her,” one 18-year-old gave as his usual reaction when rejected by a girl, according to Woods. The same boy admitted that he enjoyed “seeing women being hurt” and fantasized about strangling them - all the while thinking of suicide himself, because he feared that hardcore porn had ruined his chances at a real relationship forever.

Another case cited by Woods was Andrew, 13, who had sexually abused his five-year-old half-sister. “Due to his two years of constant porn use, he has built up a complex fantasy world — so it was no big step for him to try to involve her,” wrote Woods.

Monica Breaux PhD, an adults-only therapist and expert in sex addiction based in Arizona, said that Woods’ scenarios are all too accurate.

“My clients are primarily adult men seeking help for pornography compulsion, but I am painfully aware that experts report there is no way to prevent children from being exposed to pornography,” Breaux told LifeSiteNews.com in an email.

Breaux said the porn trap is especially pernicious for children, who have yet to develop a sense of boundaries against acting out what they have seen with others.

“Children are naturally drawn to images of other children as models of behavior. They pressure peers to view and imitate pornography,” she said. Meanwhile, “group sex, bestiality, and sadomasochism are prevalent in pornographic materials that children stumble upon.”

Breaux said porn’s “dehumanizing” effect can spread into a person’s entire life.

“We select people in the pornographic pictures for our personal slaves. We do not think of their hunger, their wounds, their need for our genuine love and concern,” the therapist said. “This slaveholder attitude creeps into our relationship skills.”

As a sex addict loses sight of others’ dignity, said Breaux, this assessment of the human person ultimately takes root in themselves, destroying their self-esteem.

When addicted to porn, “we go blind to the goodness within us, believing we are bad and unlovable,” she said. “My clients, who turned to pornography to soothe their loneliness and emotional pain, tell me ‘Pornography ruined my life. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me.’”

Woods cited a U.K. report that found four out of five 16-year-olds regularly access porn online. His own area in North London has seen 50 referrals for youths suffering from compulsive porn use in the past year.

“As a therapist, I am convinced that these images can be deeply traumatising to children — not least because a competitive market means that pornographers are trying to outdo each other to come up with the most extreme images,” he said.

“This contest to push the boundaries means that straight intercourse is considered too boring. Images of brutal anal sex and women being humiliated and degraded by two or more men at any one time are the new norms,” wrote Woods. “Some of the kids who regularly see such scenes will become conditioned to being aroused by only the most extreme practices at a critical state of their sexual development.”

Another alarming aspect of the dilemma is how easily it could be prevented: parents, he said, just aren’t in the room when kids are on the Internet. “Most parents simply have no idea of what their children are doing,” he said.

“In the Seventies and Eighties, parents were urged to ask: ‘Do you know where your child is?’ The urgent question parents should now ask is: ‘Do you know where your child is going online?’ because, in my view, where they wander on the web is potentially more dangerous.”

Without that control, the debilitating addiction could shatter a young person’s budding relationship skills and self-image for a lifetime.

Woods says Jamie told him he felt branded by the immense guilt of the addiction he had stumbled into - “as if it is written across my forehead” - and which was now completely out of his control.

“It still makes me think I might never have a proper girlfriend - because the pictures still come back to me sometimes. It make makes me want to shout, ‘Stop, stop,’” said the boy. “But sometimes they still won’t go away.”

Maybe the punk was just a sick little wanker all along.

I’m sure he ate cereal and drank milk too.

Perhaps those were factors as well.

“Dehumanizing”....that pretty well describes it. And, like all addictions, there are those behind it making huge profits telling everyone that it’s OK.

So Jamie is most boys from the past 100 years?

The kid sounds like he was the product of a couple of really clueless parents that couldn’t screw in a light bulb. It isnt like he paid for the internet access.

Porn is harmless and should be encouraged. It is not the governments business to legislate what goes on behind closed doors.

And besides.. All these “statistics” are just lies. Made up by goody-two shoes who want to outlaw a little harmless fun.

Don’t like porn? Don’t watch it.

By a greaty many on this forum. When you even get consensus on a conservative forum like FR that porn is evil then this country's in a whole lot of trouble. We've lost our way as a nation and there's no way that we, alone, can get back on track.

I have noticed and are shocked. Meanwhile the makers of drugs like Viagra rake in billions because of men who can’t get a natural erection due to porn. I am talking men in their 20’s and 30’s. I have seen the documentaries on porn and what it does to the male brain. It is worse than a lot of street drugs. These are men who would rather watch sex than do it with their wives. How sad is that?

Are the parents clueless or just stupid? You can’t allow a 11,12 or 13 year old get on the internet unsupervised. Kids are curious and will google or look up odd things.....Much less let them have internet access in their room. The internet is a good place for kids to be able to learn but their are seedier sections where kids need to be kept from

It is pretty sad that a woman could be so unappealing that her husband would rather whack it to a bunch of electrons than have sex with her . . . or that a woman would be dopey enough to marry a dude like that in the first place.

Very good question. I don’t propose legislation as the answer although it may be part of it. Banning bestiality and similar things.

IMO the real answer is through Jesus. When men have a closer relationship with Jesus they can focus on the right things, and not the bad stuff like porn.

I heard a stat at church; if the man of the house goes to church the rest of the household is 87% more likely to go with him. As compared to the woman wanting to go to church but not the man. Men need to wake up and be the leaders God instructed us to be.

Unappealing?

So how is a wife to compete with women who are airbrushed, had billions in plastic surgery and one massive boob job?

Oh heck of the husband spent that much on plastic surgery on his wife instead of porn maybe she could compete. Still can’t get around the airbrushing though.

In other words the women in porn are fake! His wife is real. That is why she is “unappealing”. Her flaws can’t be airbrushed, she does not and may not want fake boobs, and other forms of painful expensive plastic surgery.
Yea these woman are unappealing compared to a made up fantasy.

HOwever these are the wives who cook, clean and have babies. I guess that makes them unloveable. To be loved they have to be a hot sex siren.

An addiction is an evolving process. It’s easily possible the man was either clean at the start, or was simply in the early stages of the addiction, where he was only spending a few minutes at it at a time, but still came home. This is something common to plenty of sexual deviancies, it takes time to become obvious.

Oh, I don't know, perhaps a little four-letter world called "love."

You can't take an edge case (e.g., "married man would rather do himself while watching porn than be done by his wife") and pass it off as the norm, because what you're really doing is giving an example of a really bad marriage between two people who would probably have intimacy issues even if porn never existed. Now I'm not here to suggest that porn is wonderful, but rather to suggest that in the realm of this subject, maybe you're acting the part of the "gun grabber" who suggests that the "gun" is the evil thing that must be forbidden for the sake of humanity.

Several years ago a partner of mine and I would go to storage locker auctions and buy delinquent units, inevitably most contained porno collections, usually VCR tapes.

When we held our sales events they were all kept behind the counter, out of site.

You would be shocked at the number of women that would ask if we had any porn for sale with absolutely no abashedness.

It is indeed a two way street. It's not just men in those films.

“These are men who would rather watch sex than do it with their wives. How sad is that?”

I'd probably never get married but this is the typically story from nearly all of my married friends. At least the friends whose wives let them off the leash long enough to speak about it.

Too many women don't even know what they want and are constantly unhappy under any circumstances.

-If you stand up for yourself each time, you “don't listen”. If you do everything she wants, you're a “doormat”.

-If you work very hard and have a busy personal life, you are “abandoning”. If you try to spend too much time together you “need more time apart”.

-If you make much more than her and are generous you are “trying to bribe her”. If you make less, you are a “bum”.

I could go on and on. And if they finally get the right combination one day and get their wives into the sack, they usually realize it wasn't even worth the effort in the first place. Too many women put as little effort as possible into sex and abandon trying anything new.

It's much easier and usually more satisfying for them to pop in a movie that shows exactly what they want(and never will get) or get a prostitute.

I'm not saying everyone is like that but the risk is too high. Many of my friends’ wives were completely different people before the wedding. As for me, I don't believe that I will ever meet someone that I would marry. I'll stick to girlfriends however long it works out for.

From divorcemag.com:

___________________________________________________________

Here's a sampling of some of the most recently available statistics on marriage and divorce in the United States of America:

The divorce rate in 2005 (per 1,000 people) was 3.6 -- the lowest rate since 1970, and down from 4.2 in 2000 and from 4.7 in 1990. (The peak was at 5.3 in 1981, according to the Associated Press.)

In 2004, the state with the highest reported divorce rate was Nevada, at 6.4 (per 1,000). Arkansas was a close second, with a divorce rate of 6.3, followed by Wyoming at 5.3. The District of Columbia had the lowest reported divorce rate, at 1.7, followed by Massachusetts at 2.2 and Pennsylvania at 2.5.

No, it isn’t instantaneous, it is a progressing process. The inaccuracy that the media gives you is that, like returning vets, otherwise insignificant crimes, and so forth, the media sensationalizes, and brings out the absolute worst cases of the bunch.

Again, how far things take you varies from person to person, some people like me actually had it in them to frankly snap out of it, when I realized the kind of depraved behaviors that I would ultimately end up entertaining myself with should I keep going on the path.

I would estimate most people end up like me, figuring that there’s something wrong with what you are doing, you’re wasting too much time entertaining yourself with something that isn’t real, and the same sources that you entertain yourself with regarding man-woman sex also portray sodomy and other distorted junk as well.

I wonder how many people in Mass or D.C. cohabitate rather than marry? The whole porn deal also has its most extreme issue in a few cases where a guy dumps his wife for a girl, that’s not to say that I don’t doubt the statistics, but it’s flexible and open to interpretation in a number of ways. Again, statistics are “plastic” i.e. people can still come up with a variety of conclusions and question the source.

As far as the article goes, it is talking about the damage to 12- to 17-year-olds. This is a very vulnerable time in brain development, when the body is naturally starting to produce the chemicals for sexual maturity. Studies have shown that males, particularly, are more likely than females to become sharply aroused by visual stimuli, and around age 12 are quite vulnerable to “imprinting”, where a particular image or type of image stimulates the brain powerfully.

It is criminal for perverted and profiteering “sexual progressives” to warp children’s minds with debased images of cruel and unusual practices during their sexual development period — worse than the crippling foot-binding among the ancient Chinese.

Many parents do not know how to monitor the children’s activities, set up controls and/or check the search history. In our house, the television and computer were in the family room only, and a parent was always nearby or in the room when they were in use.

We also counseled our youngsters frankly about the possible damage to future relationships from this material and sexual relations without commitment or maturity; and we made phone calls to other parents whose children were trying to involve ours in watching this stuff. You would be amazed at the denials and excuses we heard.
