File the form for the automatic extension of filing tax forms. You’ll then have until Oct. 15 to get the info you need. Be sure to pay your estimated tax, or as much of the estimate you can, along with the request for extension today. The forms can be found at www.irs.gov.

Odds are, when mom keels over, one or both of them will get the house in the will; if she has it free and clear, they can sell it, and depending where they live, profit a tidy sum. Of course what happens after that is anyone’s guess.
