I am writing as a general observer of life and society, not as social researcher, intellectual or someone who aspires to be... I'm what you may call, a common man; one with other demands on my time that prevent me from writing an in depth treatise on the subject.
But for anybody who does have the time, aptitude and inclination, this I believe would be a great title for a book, identifying the cross-purposes between a despot and useful idiots; a kind of symbiotic social contract... a look at the historical compared to the present.
The modern context of course is our present day situation with a President who identifies himself with the Hoodie class in the hopes of stirring trouble in a bid of ensconcing himself as a perpetual dictator. The social contract between the two in essence says, "as a despot, I have the power and the goodies, and will share some goodies with the Hoodies, if the Hoodies will keep me in power".
Also, keep in mind, that rationality doesn't always win the day, in terms to setting the course right again for self determination and liberty. Rationality always weighs the cost but isn't always willing to pay the price for its rational approach to living in this world. Most despots, however, flee for their lives (figuratively and literally) when faced with a determined rational mindset.
Somebody, please write this book...

I’m not sure about the point of your thread. I understand about lack of time, but perhaps just a list of bullet points would clarify the general outline of the book that you would like to be written. Leave humor and examples out, and just stick to the main topics.
If I understand you correctly, the book you call for is being written everyday by the Liberal Agenda Media on their Green Algae Man. Yep, none other than Dictator Baby-Doc Barack.
