Alicia Silverstone's baby food tips are for the birds!

In a video posted to her website, the 35-year-old actress and vegan demonstrates that her son Bear Blu, 10 months, eats food that she's "pre-chewed" and spits into his mouth.

"I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum!" she wrote on her website The Kind Life.

Explains the Clueless star: "I fed Bear the mochi and a tiny bit of veggies from the soup ... from my mouth to his. It's his favorite ... and mine."

And to think we were grossed out when our moms would spit on a napkin to wipe spaghetti sauce from the corner of our mouth. That has a gross-out factor of 1 compared to this, which is way off the gross-out scale. And what’s with that kid’s name? That’s a name you give to a Disney cartoon character, not a human .

Well--men are always bragging about their animal instincts--watch his chest inflate when his wife talks about what a tiger he is! So this is just Alicia's version...

...and anyway, the pre-chewed veggie stuff is probably good for the little cub.

Maternal instincts are nothing to triffle with. (Nothing scares me more than motherhood. I'm sure you know what I mean. That's one thing I don't mess with.)

Mom is setting the kid up for future teasing...which we call bullying today.

I agree with your disgust, but am confused by your state of confusion. She is Hollywood! Your mistake was in trying to understand her at all. She is walking proof that beauty and brains are genetically completely independent of each other.

I saw a film of that on the news. Really disgusting. Some people just shouldn’t be allowed to have children.

I'm less worried about the pre-chewing than I am about this:
"I just had a delicious breakfast of miso soup, collards and radish steamed and drizzled with flax oil, cast iron mochi with nori wrapped outside, and some grated daikon. Yum!"

A vegan diet? The kids going to end up malnourished.

Dear Alicia, There is an appliance called a blender that you can buy at any Walmart, Kohls, etc. It will breakdown your food into varying degrees of pulp and texture so that your baby can eat and digest asparagus, for example, without all the nasty bacteria you carry around in your mouth.

All these people (not just Hollyweird celeb-idiots) posting private information on the internet forget that some day the little kid will be old enough to “read all about it.”

But this is pretty tame compared to what Paris Hilton’s kids (if she ever has any) or Britney Spears’ kids will learn about their mothers...

Yes its gross, but my grandmother did this for my brother who wasnt digesting his food properly, she thought he would starve to death if she didnt, she was right but this was in 1950.

In this day and age there is NO reason for doing this

Oh, delish! And for lunch I'm going to have a yummy meal of snapped-off pine branches garnished with crabgrass and some mulch mixed with a chopped-up hay bale!

Sounds like she's desperately trying to convince herself that stuff is "delicious."
