Santorum's 'Obamaville' Ad Warns Of 2nd-Term Horror Categories: 2012, Campaign tactics, Democrats, Republicans

March 23, 2012

Rick Santorum has a not so little problem standing between him and a general-election face-off with President Obama — Mitt Romney.

But that's not stopping the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania from focusing a new negative ad/movie trailer against the president instead of the former Massachusetts governor whose substantial delegate lead appears to have him and not Santorum headed to the Republican presidential nomination.

YouTube

The trailer, which previews a video series Santorum's campaign plans to unveil on its website in coming days, depicts a dystopian future where everything bad that can happen does, save for Hunger Games-like fights to the death between teens.

Anything out of NPR is pure Marxist propaganda and fit
only for feeding America’s Communist.
That being said, my neighbor here on Cebu is from PA, and quite a fan of Santorum.
Were are both, however, shaking our heads in amazement
at Santorum’s absurd remark that Obama would be better then Romney.
I understand that it was a faux pas, said and taken out of context, but a stupid remark.

I like it! But of course it scares the crap out of the RINO elites.

I’m coming to believe that the RNC has nearly given up on winning the Presidency - what Santorum doesn’t do to Romney, Obama will. They just want to win the Senate and try to gridlock Obama while, by the way, getting their cushy chairmanships and control of the money back.

He said it was a misstatement because he was tired but meant what he said. It boils down to the Reagan argument about Pale Pastels and Bold Colors. I agree with Rick 100%.

I agree too...Rick was saying vote for Obama...as Romney will just slow down the destruction a tax; Obama would be a faster slide into the abyss of socialism.

Santorum’s absurd remark that Obama would be better then Romney.

That's not what he said and that's not what he meant.

He said: “If they’re going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk of what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate for the future.”

He was speaking from the point of view of the voters and what their reasoning would be if there were no clear distinction between Obama and Romney.

Yeah, he could have said it much better. If he had, his detractors wouldn't have such an easy time dishonestly twisting his comment.

"What do you think"?

I think Santorum is and idiot.

I also believe he gives conservatives a bad reputation.

He's the worse thing to happen to the conservative movement in my lifetime. And I's an old man.

Long after he leaves the race, the world will use his stupidity against the rest of us.

I blame all of his supporters. All of them.

BUMP!

BTW, just what IS the difference between Obama and Romney, ignoring Obama”care,” of course.

Sour grapes. Your guy Gingrich comes in third even in La. He’s started to embarrass himself now. Wish he had quit earlier and helped Santorum derail Romney in MI and OH. This would have been all over by now had he had some measure of humility and foresight. We’ve had enough of his “loony” big idea and so have the voters.

You’re right about that last part. I don’t think they even care about blocking BHO. Besides, he plans to step up his bypassing of Congress completely - he’s even said so publicly.

My God, people - we’ve got a GOP that evidently doesn’t care if BHO loads up the Court or completely destroys our country.

Do we just sit and watch???

Yes, but he didn't. Santorum couldn't get over himself, and now we're all stuck with the consequences.

Most of us who prefer Newt over Rick, understood exaclty what he meant. The trouble is that this misstep was one of his best efforts to make an anology to attack his opponent and he did a half-assed job of trying to come up with something to make a mockery of Romney's etch-sketch moment. If he can't do better than that, we might well get Obama back with either Mitt or Rick as the opponent. I agree with much of what seem to be Rick's views, but he has failed to exhibit the level of control/imagination/wit that would instill a sense of confidence in his ABILITIES.

I don’t like it. Rick needs to present a positive image of his vision of America. I heard him speak yesterday and he tries to fashion his campaign after Ronald Reagan’s. Reagan didn’t get where he got by making us think of Obamaville. That just discourages folks and keeps them home on election day.
