My Message to Rick Santorum

Not too long ago, I had asked a woman from Pennsylvania what she thought about Rick Santorum. Knowing that she was as conservative and as Republican as I am, I was surprised at her response. She said, “He is the worst. Those of us who know him best have nothing but contempt for him. He is not an honest person and certainly would not hesitate to stab a fellow politician in the back.” That was a few weeks ago, but I have learned what a tawdry character Santorum is. He is a jealous weasel who actually would rather see a fellow Republican defeated by the despicable Barack the Boastful.
Can you imagine he is actually one step away from campaigning for Obama?

Anyone who doesn’t realize Santorum is a jealous little weasel (Bob Grant’s words, not mine) was not paying attention to the debates, especially the early debates.
I grew up listening to him. Now he sounds senile.
Santorum long ago lost me with his attacks on Gingrich - while offering virtually nothing on the same order toward the current lawless President.

Bob Grant’s a lot of things. RINO is not one of them. I’ve heard Grant for over 30 years, first on WABC then WOR and he made me uneasy until one day he agreed wholeheartedly with a caller who referred to the vast majority of junior high kids in the school I taught at savages and criminals. But Mitt was the one with the money running ads. Santorum isn’t responsible for Newt’s loss. Satorum still defeated Romney in Iowa, and you said that Santorum was a jealous weasel at the beginning.

Bob Grant has been a RINO forever.
He is ardently "pro-choice." Explains his hatred for Santorum.
Santorum won the same way Huckabee did: because of what happened at Evangelical churches the Sunday before the IA caucuses.
So what, he still beat Romney with all of his money and support from the establishment.
The “so what” is that there’s something really unseemly about church people voting in lockstep because some ‘leaders’ decide “X” is ‘their’ candidate. The candidate doesn’t have to be best for USA, just simpatico with the aforementioned church ‘leaders.’ One would think they were electing the equivalent of the Pope instead of POTUS.

You don’t know that all of Santorum’s voters were Evangelicals.
Why are we posting stuff like this? If Santorum doesn’t beat Romney, it’s Romney or Obama. What an unnamed woman said to Bob Grant is not very substantial. We need to support Santorum at this point.
On a more positive, hopeful note, if Santorum and Gingrich could work together on a united ticket I think they would crush Romney even at this late stage of the game. They would also be able to divide the campaign trail and work twice as effectively.
Just a question, if they united, would that automatically mean that their delegates would be combined?

Who said ALL of Santorum’s voters were Evangelicals? That may be your inference, but it is not what I posted. Neither did I say he got ALL evangelicals. However, he did get the bulk of Evangelicals who voted, which was enough to sway the caucuses in his direction.

And Romney and Paul didn’t get any Evangelicals to vote for them? Who cares who voted for him? He still defeated the frontrunner who had all the money, and the establishment behind him.
They can ask that their delegates to the other candidate, but the delegate doesn’t have to do that. I’m posting this to show how much RINO’s dislike conservatives.

According to this group of perpetual malcontents, Reagan was a RINO. He was a former Democrat, had a divorce, frequently compromised with Democrats and believed in free trade.
I Reagan was running today, they would call him every vile name in the book. The word “respect” is not even in their vocabulary.
Reagan wasn’t supported by the same people who are supporting Romney, so no I wouldn’t call him a RINO.

Most of Romney's supporters were rabid Reagan campaign supporters. I can claim that from actual experience, since I was a Reagan campaign volunteer myself, and spent a good part of my young adult life during that era.

Bob Grant makes a lot of sense. He fears for our country if Obama is reelected. He thinks Romney has best chance to win. You can listen to Grant on Sundays from noon to 2 pm and make up your own mind.

The demographics don’t matter for the primary. You insulted me first, secondly you brought up Regan, not me. Romney isn’t the conservative in the race, so why would Reagan supporter be supporting him? Romney supporters would be George H.W. Bush supporters, and Ford supporteres.
Grant hasn’t made sense in a long, long time.
