No One Wants Tim Tebow (What happens to him after Peyton Manning joins the Denver Broncos?)
Business Insider ^ | 03/20/2012 | Lorenzo Arguello

As soon as word came through that Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos were ironing out a contract, the Tim Tebow questions began to fly.

The likeliest of outcomes seemed to be a trade.

But where?

Everyone's first instinct was the Jacksonville Jaguars. That doesn't appear likely, as reports say that Jags management doesn't have any interest in Tebow.

New England was mentioned as a possibility too because the guy who drafted him, Josh McDaniels, is now an offensive coordinator there and Bill Belichick loves going outside the box. Chances of that ever happening are slim, though.

The Miami Dolphins and their hated GM Jeff Ireland were mentioned, but that doesn't look promising after they signed David Garrard to compete with Matt Moore. Other teams with quarterback questions have already figured things out.

Late Manning entrants the San Francisco 49ers will go back to Alex Smith. The Seattle Seahawks settled on free agent Matt Flynn.

Cleveland has issues at QB, but is prepared to continue the Colt McCoy experiment. Even if the Browns were looking for a change, Tebow doesn't fit into team president Mike Holmgren's west coast offense.

Philadelphia has even been bandied about as a wild card possibility, but despite the Eagles coaching staff's success with QB projects, we don't see this happening.

Green Bay Packers, anyone?

Hopefully, he stays here in Denver and learns from the best.

not a football fan...but doesn’t the elder manning brother have a worn out arm?

is it because Tebow shows his belief in God during games they would trade him for a washed up quarterback???

That's actually a great idea. He'd learn a lot from Rodgers and that could set him up as a future leading QB.

Here is a bizzare concept for the attention-span addled media - imagine Tebow having 3-4 years, with Peyton Manning towards the end of his career, to learn from one of the best in the game? Tebow is very young. He has plenty of time left in his career.

And this is a very religious town

I’m sure Tebow would love to play somewhere but didn’t he get $35mil for signing with the Broncos? Sounds to me like he got the last laugh.

I thought the same thing. Why can’t he just stay in Denver as a backup? It seems like as soon as talk about Manning going to Denver heated up everyone assumed Tebow would be traded. Does Elway hate him that much?

36, severely injured, happy feet in the backfield, inability to throw the deep ball or even a decent spiral with zip anymore. Hey, how about paying him a 100M to stand back there and hand the ball off? He can't scramble. He'll be an outsider to the rest of the team, All the hype will be about him. That will drive the other players crazy.

Oh yeah, perfect fit. Learn from the master. LOL! I hope Elway is fired for this stupidity!

As a cheesehead in Texas, I like that idea too.

It's more likely because Tebow isn't a very good quarterback.

Maybe the door is shutting on football and opening in politics.

Tebow’s future opportunities in the CFL just got a little brighter. :)

People who say or think that no NFL team will want him, are suffering from Tebowmania induced stupidity. Someone will want him badly.

I don’t understand the logic here. I get the Manning signing obviously, but what more could the Broncos ask from Tebow? The guy wins every place he goes. He went 8-5 as a starter. The Number of points given up by his Defense in those five losses: 29 (they lost by 5) 45, 40, 41 and they lost 7-3 in the playoffs, for an average of 32 pts. That is an insane disadvantage to basically a rookie QB.

“That’s actually a great idea. He’d learn a lot from Rodgers and that could set him up as a future leading QB.”

I’m with you on that one. AR sat the bench and learned from Farve for a couple of years and was all the better for it.

I’m a long time cheesehead and a Tebow fan as well. Hope this happens.

If Tebow was a pocket passer like Peyton, maybe. But their styles of play are so different, it’s hard to imagine Tebow learning under Manning. But who knows?

One thing I'll give the guy credit for is he (Tebow we're talking about here, not Denver's next QB) isn't afraid of running with the ball and getting hit. Actually he seems to kind of enjoy it, which is a good thing.

Maybe his natural position in the NFL is tight end or inside receiver kinda like Wes Welker 'cause no offense folks, it ain't QB.

Time for Denver to move on from the Florida offense and train a QB for the future, being mentored by one of the best who ever played. It'll be interesting to see who they pick up in the 4th round or so.

And seriously, Tebow needs to get his agent to work shopping around a backup tight end / H-back who's willing to work cheap for a couple of years.

I’d like to see him come to Indianapolis, he and Luck could work together. But.. I don’t see that happening. Colts fans are really upset at Irsay, letting all that talent go. I can’t figure out if it’s money or he’s just thinking it’s time to change. I suppose it’s some of both, but still, not seeing Peyton in a Colts jersey.... it’s going to hurt. Or Clark, Adai, Garson....
