Mama always said I was diffident from the other children, and that made me special.

i just heard an entertaining exchange in the coffee shop across from my ofc. There's electioneering going on around Judiciary Sq today. The conversation was among African Americans, so it was in the patois of DC... the proprietor/mgr of the place said to a guy "i don't even know what Occupy DC IS.." and that's what caught my attention. He said, "why don't you tell me what it's about, bc you don't want to hear what I think they is..." at which point i RORed aloud! the other guy said "oh, you need to come down and see.." yada yada and the propietor said, "oh nah, i don't need to go down and see that mess, you need to be able to tell me what they is about!" So i was heartened to see that a probusiness black man knew what was what with THAT MESS.

That is pretty funny. I am disheartened today though, and have been for a few days. I visited with a neighbor this past week who is firmly conservative and supported President Bush, started out with Huckabee but eventually had a McCain/Palin sign in her yard but this year, although she won’t ever vote bammy, said she won’t vote for romney. She and her husband are wonderful people and solidly conservative but she said she can’t vote for him, even if it means bammy gets another four years to destroy this country.

No, it is not a nice day-it may be later, but not so far-

A bit more diffident attitude
Would be greatly appreciated
By the all ‘rats in congress
And Obama the Vastly Overrated

We don’t send our 13 year olds
On spring break to Mexico-
Even with a secret service troop
It is an unsafe place to go

With 12 friends along for company-
It’s a bunch of rich kids on display-
How much safer and age-appropriate
To keep them here in the USA?

I’m appalled that any parent would send their child-AND assume the liability for a dozen more-to a foreign country awash with drug crime and the kidnapping of rich American citizens for cash-God keep that little girl and her friends safe, never mind that her parents are spending a fortune to kiss Mexico’s ass and using one of their own children as a tool to do it.
