Love Pawn Stars, and their explorations of some of the items brought in for sale, including old weapons and books, do provide historical information from another perspective than the straight story format - besides Chumley is lots funnier than your everyday history professor.....

Years ago some nicknamed it the Hitler Channel because of the WW II documentaries, etc.—and yes on occasion they will run
“Third Reich: The Rise” and “T.R.—The Fall”. But yes they do run stuff like Pawn Stars now. I was at a Chinese restaurant the other day, in bar section (you can eat your meal in bar) and some guy was glued to “Pawn Stars” on History.

I did like their recent How The States Got their Shapes,
though; a lighthearted look at history and geography.

And speaking of mis-named, no-longer-relevantly-named things,
Boston’s House of Blues nightclub is in the news because of mosh pit antics at punk shows. The nightclub chain, started by Isaac Tigrett of Hard Rock Cafe and “Blues Brother”
Dan Aykroyd, these days has anything BUT blues music. It’s
extremely rare that they present an artist in the tradition
of Waters, Hooker, B.B. King, or Koko Taylor. House of anything but.

"It’s going to strengthen patriotism."

Memo to Senator Grassley:

They don't want patriotism strengthened.

Those two brothers Mitchell & Glenn are likely far more knowledgeable survivalist than most Preppers are

I posted the photo of Mitchell and Glenn out of sheer enjoyment of those fellows.

The Guise brothers really do help make the show. Not even the worse of circumstances they get into seems to bring them down. Really they have it made more than a lot of us do. No matter the circumstances of what is going on in the political world they are somewhat removed from it all. The determination of some on that show is amazing. Juniors son Willy? shows no fear of anything. Looking at him and listening at first you would think he might lack education. If he was dumb he would be dead in that profession. The one that could put a hurt on them all though is Liz. LOL..

Now a show for dysfunctional is Ax Men. A couple of the ones on there a person really has to wonder about LOL.

The origional name The History Channel was dropped in 2008 and simply called History thereafter. That is why you see a H logo and History.com on the screen.

He should present legislation to require them to carry history programs and nothing but history programs. The nerve of these networks to show what they want

Don't you mean how dare a consumer complain that they are not getting value from a service?

I see nothing where he wants the government involved in anyway he is just ticked that a service that he paid for is now no longer providing the service. Has that suddenly become a bad thing?
