Just a reminder, Daylight Savings Time for 2012 starts March 11. Turn your clocks ahead 1 hour tonight.
:)
SPRING AHEAD!
PRAISE GOD!
Just think of the impact this extra hour all these years has had on global warming. We ought to ban it.
Change batteries in all those gadgets about the house you depend upon to monitory your health and protect your safety.
If I go to work, will I get paid for that lost hour? : )
is there a “source” for this post ? LOL ...
Thank you for the reminder. I try to always do it during the day so I can get used to it. Just did all my clocks...except the auto ones.
We don’t believe in that crap in AZ. DST is for wimps and followers.
Da yam
I wish they would set it and forget it.
This new 4 month DST is ridiculous.
I blame capitalism. The gummint owes me a check.
Ditto!
Good. All the clocks I never changed last fall are now going to be correct.
Crap. I hardly slept at all last night. Oh well, at least there will be more sunshine later.
Just for you! :0)
Sounds like it's time for a daylight savings bailout.
I am always so much happier during Daylight Savings Time, aren’t you?
I feel like a rat on a treadmill: doing what “they tell us to do”, all the time.
I agree: set it and forget it, TG!
You’re more of a sheep.
Yeah, picking-up dogpoop in the dark sucks. Stepping in it’s even worse!
Yet another reason to move there...
I HATE DST!!
LOL!
I am a payroll manager and belong to a professional association and subscribed to their daily, member to member Q&A emails.
The other week a payroll manager posted the following question to the group (paraphrasing).
Our payroll is semi¬monthly and this week an exempt salaried employee came to me and told me that I needed to make a payroll adjustment because of Leap Year. He felt that because this year, being a Leap Year, and having an extra day in it, he was being cheated out of a days wages. Aside from the obvious answer of You are way too stupid to breathe, live alone have a job, live alone have a salaried managerial position, how do I explain to this raving moron that he gets x number of dollars per year divided by 24 pays and he isnt entitled to anything extra just because its a Leap Year?
I laughed so hard I almost peed myself!
And in a more serious answer to your question, if you are an hourly shift worker who works in a period during which DLST starts, yes, you get paid for the hours for which you actually worked and no, if you are an hourly shift worker who works in a period during which DLST end, you dont lose an hour of pay. Our automated time clock system is programmed to accommodate DLST changes. :) ,
Ever wonder why it is called “daylight savings time”? It doesn’t save either daylight or time.
That's a very good point. We give up an hour of cool air in the morning for an extra hour of very hot air in the evening. And I do think we ought to ban it -- just like the Founders intended! :)
The weather’s warm, BG. We’d love to have you.
Aren’t we all, with DST etc?
Spoken like a person with experience!
Yes, I am. I don’t like winter but I like it even less because the sun’s hardly ever out. I’ve been this way since I was a child.
Well there ya go! Procrastination pays!
(I’ve been so busy the short times I’m in my office that I just a few days ago noticed that one of my calendars was still on January.)
I am too. Just wanted you to know you aren’t a rat.
Thank you!
However.. I’m *wanting* the mountain areas... It’s colder.
Yes. I am SURE I will live to regret this... ;)
NO!!!!
mumble grumble
Thanks, EEG. There are days, though...
Get a flashlight!!!!
Down with DST!!! Booooo
White Mountains up by show Low very nice. About 6K feet.
I work a night job (M-F) starting at 6 pm. Right around this time of yr, I drive toward work just about due west most of the time and the sun is pretty brutal (even with the visor).
Not after tonight, though.
I have some friends with SAD.

Never liked that acronym. They use artificial lights. Works for some; doesn’t for others. Just be glad you don’t live in Alaska, with 6mos of darkness. Not sure I could take that, either.
Thanks!!
I *think* it was hope... We were doing a lot of FRmailing about different mountain areas.
Guess what I accidentally did? Deleted pages of Inbox stuff..
That’s a HINT for ya, hope....
;(
See my Post #27, B G. I agree!
Same here! Give me sunlight!
We will be a lot happier tomorrow!
Blessed Daylight Sunday, dear friend!
Do you think that Americans who live in the other 48 states (Hawaii also doesn't participate in DST) actually have a choice?
Rats are survivors.
Thanks for the reminder.
I should do the smoke detector and the CO monitors.
No, not really. Not further than the extent we control our government, and we know they control us instead. We’re at the awkward stage...not ready to start shooting them yet. And it’s more than 48 other states.
I'll miss the extra hour of sleep. There are always a few stragglers coming in a bit bleary eyed at church when this transition occurs.

As I doff my propeller beanie cap and go into 100% nerd mode, the correct term is "daylight saving time" without an 's'. This tidbit is presented in the interest of pedants everywhere. :-)
Can we keep shorter days?
Longer nights?
Pleeeease?
So are termites and cockroaches. LOL!
Never could understand why we have to wait until 2am to change the clocks? Seem to me the government would make the switchover earlier on Saturday night, maybe 10pm, my normal bedtime. I find it so difficult changing the clock at 2am. I am so tired at that time. No wonder so many people are late for church! Yawwwnnnnnnnn!
/s
Haha, true. I guess I stepped in it.
Yes, I know. It is funny how dumb people can be at times. I heard that joke on the radio and just repeated it.
But....I really did go to the doctor the other day and he asked me if I am considering doing anything to prevent memory loss because I am almost 50 years old now. I told him...I don’t know doctor, I can’t remember....
I like that idea, B G!
After I hit 62, I wanted 7-8hrs of sleep. At 20-45, 4-5hrs did just fine. True, I get up at 4am to feed/water my cats, but now that I’ve sold my business, I can get the 7-8hrs, instead of working 15hrs/day, 7 days a week for all those 35+yrs.
