I've had hives several times and they're not fun at all. I had one bad case where my face swelled up and my lips were turned outward. They were even on the bottoms of my feet. We had moved to Roanoke and Barry was about 10 months old. I had been to a new doctor for some other problem and Frank called him and I swear he came to our house.
Frank told him that I was so swelled up that I wouldn't go out of the house. It was good that I had established myself with one doctor or I probably would have had to go to the ER. That was the worst case I've ever had but even the milder cases are horrible.
The doctor asked if a spider had bitten me or had I eaten any seafood or if I had been upset or nervous over anything. I had had a hard time moving away from Mama with a little baby and a child in elementary school. And just a big move can tear the system up. I believe he narrowed it down to my nerves and what I had been through. Once I had hives being allergic to an antibiotic! That was a milder case but itched to death.
I feel for you, Meg.
